Do you hear that? Hell's Bells are ringing and I'm somehow still in this Top Host contest to win a chance for a totally serious opportunity to be on Ryan Seacrest's podcast. I was hoping there would be an actual reality show component to this contest but it might just be a popularity contest. I'm 8th most popular now, but you could help by voting. if you already voted in the last round, I think you can vote again. Do not pay for votes. I'm not asking anyone to do that. but you can vote once for free! tophost.org/2026/joshua-fire…

I approve. You may also call us Nillers if you're quoting a song, or if you're angry.
We are now calling white people "nillas"

I will grant that "I mean, come on," may be the best political slogan of all time.

They will call you a fascist for thinking Abortion is murder and then unironically use their political office to take away your entire livelihood if you oppose them. They Hate you and they want to see you suffer.
This is WILD. I legit thought it was a skit/high school video project. It is 100% real. This is Jaime West (Democratic Party) - she’s running for election for Fayette County Council, District 4 in Indiana. I had to make sure she did not have a neurological disorder that could account for the slurred speech and insane rambling. She doesn’t. And even if she did have a diagnosed neurological disorder, “we have guns too!” after talking about firing all Republicans would ordinarily be disqualifying. “One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” -Plato

If Nidal Hasan had been killed in the act by the police, we would have all seen it. We see body cam deaths and cell phone footage deaths every day.

It seems the biggest argument surrounding this is whether the government itself should be live-streaming an execution. I don't think it's the best idea, but I'm conflicted because I can't pretend I don't want to see it.

MAJOR NEWS!!! @SECWAR REVEALS FORT HOOD SHOOTER’S FIRING SQUAD EXECUTION WILL BE PUBLIC Sec. Pete Hegseth says Nidal Hasan will be executed by soldiers at Fort Hood on December 3 at 1 PM—the same time as the 2009 attack. “We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it’s public.” @JackPosobiec

Controversial Question....If someone is sentenced to death, and then years later the execution is performed and botched.... Should they repeat the procedure at a later date, or should they be released because technically the execution was performed & the state failed?

This should have been an option on the poll, because it's the best answer, imo. xitter.cf/DorkusMalorku22/status…
Replying to @Not_Firestine
I say the back up plan should be on hand, and administered immediately upon recognition of failure from the first attempt.

This is LITERALLY the plot to a Paranormal Activity type Horror film. Out of bed in the middle of the night. Candles and weird rituals in the kids rooms while they sleep. Closing the door on the father. The father acting like nothing is awry. Murder. (or attempted) There is a terrifyingly large number of women who will watch Horror films and pull for the villain.
The Texas mom who stabbed her two children was allegedly suffering from "postpartum depression" when she tried to kill her kids. Wow, shocker. The husband of Holly Leeann Flores, 37, says he saw his wife take a candle into the children's room at 1 am. He woke up later to hear his wife trying to use a lighter in the room. The husband, Justin Hommel, says he found his wife lighting a candle and saw a kitchen knife on the dresser. When he tried to enter the room, his wife shut the door. Hommel says the knife freaked him out, but he went back to sleep. He later woke up to the children crying. When he knocked on the door, his wife attacked him with the knife. A fight ensued, and the children, 3 years old and 10 months old, were later taken to the hospital. While on the phone with police, Hommel could be heard asking his wife if the attack was a "postpartum thing." Flores was charged with attempted murder.

If you are not following @japan_nobunaga by now, you have a lot of reading to catch up on. Idk if everything he says is true, but the way he sees America as a Japanese man is insightful, touching, and often funny.
After the tornado came through Alabama, the power was out for forty miles. Or thirty. It was dark. Distances lie at night. The grocery store was dark. The gas station was dark. The church was a roof. At two in the morning, driving through the wreckage with my headlights on, I saw one lit window on the whole road, and I will be honest: I almost did not stop, because the sign said Waffle House, and I did not yet understand what I was looking at. Inside: a line of truckers, three linemen in reflective vests, a family with a sleeping toddler clutching a stuffed elephant with one ear, and a cook who moved like a man who had not sat down in some time. I asked the waitress how they had power. She said they had a generator, a playbook, and a reputation. I asked what playbook, and she said, "Honey, Waffle House has a storm manual. FEMA calls us to find out how bad it is. If we're open, it ain't that bad. If we're closed, kiss your ass goodbye." I thought she was joking about the government part. She was not joking about the government part. It is called the Waffle House Index, and the United States informally measures disasters by whether this restaurant is serving eggs. I asked her who was in charge of the Index. She looked at me for a long moment, then pointed her coffee pot at the cook, who was flipping four eggs at once, and said, "Him." I asked the cook how long he had been there. "Three days," he said. "My house is fine. I sleep in my truck out back." I asked him why. He looked at me like I had asked why water is wet. "Somebody's got to be the light that's on." Here is the thing I cannot stop thinking about. Waffle House is open twenty-four hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days a year. They are built to never close. The doors have no locks. Sit with that. A building constructed without the ability to lock itself. A promise, made in architecture, to nobody in particular, forever. In my country we say a good sword stays in its sheath but stays sharp. This country keeps a griddle hot at three a.m. on the worst night of your life, behind a door that cannot lock, staffed by a man who has slept in his truck for three days and refuses any tip over five dollars. I know about the five dollars because I tried. Three weeks later I drove past in daylight. The sign was just yellow. The lot was just asphalt. I went in anyway and ordered eggs I did not need, because by then I understood what the building was. Not a restaurant. A lighthouse that serves breakfast.
