At work after ~a week away and I’m already dreaming of living off the grid in a quiet country cottage with a small farm and endless funds so I can just sit around reading books, drinking coffee, and caring for my various animals. Amazing what 9 hours in vetmed can do

I made myself pasta tonight and realized I can’t remember the last time I made myself a meal. Weeks… maybe months. I’ve been so tired and overwhelmed I just haven’t been able to do it. Such a simple meal. Took barely any time. Made me realize I need to take care of myself.

Heads up to new grad vets looking for jobs - many corporations have non-disparagement clauses in their contracts. To find out how people REALLY feel about a corp, reach out to those who work there privately. They can’t say anything critical publicly, no matter how true.

Once I was stuck in traffic on the way to an appt… I called as soon as I realized I would be late, apologized profusely, and asked if they wanted me to reschedule. Common courtesy, yet clients routinely show up >15min late and act as though we’ve inconvenienced them
