Worst thing is Notts County are truly awful, lost 4 in a row and are yet playing much better than us. Terrified football yet again, none of these players has confidence in these tactics I'm sorry. Persisting with Lowe as the lone striker is suicide. Like hes running in treacle.

Replying to @NottsCountyPoll
To be fair, the blame can be laid at the club, manager and players. Players need to perform, team selections, new strikers that don’t score very many.

He is without a doubt our player of the season by far currently. And he is running alone in that competition and conversation. An absolute man mountain today, he did not miss a thing. Gets his head on everything, gets everything that goes across the ground. Just silly, silly good. Lucas Ness. 🤍 #Notts

A story of strength, power, history and rebirth. It’s all right there in the badge of @Coventry_City FC, which will be seen by millions worldwide in the forthcoming Premier League season. #PUSB #SkyBlues

People talk about "honour culture", but there is a very real "no shame" culture that exists outside of the West. Look at how Argentinians act over the Falklands, they genuinely believe having invaded another country and lost, they are somehow the wronged party.

No, we hate them. I want to watch the game and only the game. Like most of the world, I couldn’t give a shit who is there. The celeb watching is a you thing, not an us thing. #FIFAWorldCup #ESPARG

American national anthem before kick off, game not played at night, hydration breaks, dynamic ticket prices, camera panning to celebrities every 25 seconds and a 30 minute HT show still to come Never let these fucking idiots host it again

This safely goes down as one of the worst World Cups in my lifetime. Everything has been commercialised, corruption is so blatant that it's insulting to viewers, all while politics and division bleed through the tournament. The US should never host again #WorldCup2026

A half-time show is an anti-football abomination. Players have gone through their career used to normal break. That rhythm disrupted, in the biggest game of their careers. It's of a piece with absurdly high ticket prices and Balogun controversy - Fifa ushering this through.

Worth pointing out that Quansah’s “crime” is the same in FIFA terms as Folarin Balogun’s - serious foul play. Quansah’s one-game ban has been extended to two. Balogun’s was suspended for 12 months when Donald Trump made a phone call.

"who is going to pay for all this free soccer" i swear this must be a brain disease
Youth soccer (youth sports) is a competitive market with businesses selling a product that obviously customers are willing to pay for. I’d love if soccer was free to all. But who is going to pay for all this free soccer?

A lot of discourse on this but it is abundantly clear that too many Americans still have no real concept of Football and what it’s like at any level. The best football players in the world are much better at football than the best American Footballers are at American Football. And that’s because it’s an extremely accessible sport and the talent pool is orders of magnitude larger and more competitive than any in America. In America, most kids don’t really start getting involved seriously in sports until high school. Here, there are kids playing youth football for professional teams when they are 6 and 7. If you aren’t being picked up by a serious team by 12 or 13 at an absolute push then it’s over, you aren’t making it. And the vast, vast majority of kids that are picked up by that age also do not make it either.
Division 2 cornerbacks are more athletic than anyone involved in the World Cup. If Russell Westbrook had 6 months of practice he’d be the greatest Soccer player to ever live.

Did the US win many fans during this tournament? No. Did they do the moral thing and denounce Trump’s role in the Balogun saga? No. But did they at least exit the World Cup without embarrassing themselves further? Also no #FIFAWorldCup

In most cultures, people prefer to win by playing a tournament with the same rules as everyone else. In American culture if the rules get changed to give you a unique advantage you act sanctimonious and talk about how this makes you morally superior
A huge cultural difference between international soccer and American sports cultures. Americans are used to our athletes saying they prefer to beat an opponent at full strength. International soccer culture - the same culture that produces players pretending to be injured - is fine whinging about a guy being suspended for something he didn’t even do to their team.
