Today marks the 4th anniversary of Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose 💐
On October 28, 2022, Capcom released the Resident Evil: Village Gold Edition bundle, which includes: third-person mode with Ethan, plus additional characters and stages for Mercenaries mode. We also gained access to the multiplayer game Resident Evil Re:Verse.
In particular, the “Winter’s Expansion” introduced the DLC titled Shadows of Rose, set 16 years after the events of RE: Village, where Ethan’s beloved daughter, Rosemary Winters, is now a teenager with a terrifying power. As she tries to free herself from her powers, she is drawn into the consciousness of the Megamycete, a realm where memories of the past resurface to create a distorted and twisted world of nightmares.

Jun Takeuchi’s words are being misinterpreted, with some claiming that he said Resident Evil series will end in 10 years. That’s not what he said.
Takeuchi-san said:
“With Requiem, which was released this year, I feel that the first ten years have reached a certain stopping point, so I think things will be settled in the next ten years / or I think a conclusion will be reached in the next ten years.”
When asked how many new titles will be released over the next ten years, he said:
“I can’t say because it would take away everyone’s enjoyment, but it’s not going to be just one. There will be multiple titles.”
This means that the storyline that began with RE:2, which he mentioned earlier in the interview, will eventually reach a conclusion. Requiem is more like a pit stop marking the end of this 10-year period. The series itself will continue.
And besides, the events of the Shadows of Rose DLC take place in 2037, which already goes beyond the next 10 years.

IGN... That's not what Jun Takeuchi said... He said they had formed a 10-year plan for Resident Evil for the next decade, they had an on-going story in-between titles (both new games & remakes) which THAT STORY would be concluded in the next 10 years, not the whole series.
