The ultimate goal for all publishers & media companies should be to build a real audience of true fans.
Grow a base of direct visitors to your properties who seek out your content on a routine basis.
Use algorithms to grow your base of true fans, yes. But minimize your reliance on them over time.

Evergreen stories are assets you can distribute everywhere, on repeat, forever.
The old way: Publish an article on your website. Get 1,000 pageviews. Move on to the next story.
The new way (real example):
Publish the story as an article on your website (1,000 views)
Then, turn that story into a short-form video and post it on:
• Instagram (236,000 views)
• Facebook (49,000 views)
• TikTok (9,700 views)
• YouTube Shorts (2,700 views)
• Threads (250 views)
Then, send it as an email newsletter to your most loyal readers (10,000 views)
Then, turn it into a long-form YouTube video (575 views)
You just went from reaching 1,000 people to reaching over 300,000 people. And that is just for the first round for this story.
Every 3 to 6 months, you can repeat this process with the same exact story and reach a new audience.
You've heard "work smarter, not harder." But to stand out on the internet in 2026 and beyond, you need to do both.
