Fam we went 6-7 in the B12 w a top 100 pick at QB it’s not the conference it’s the HC he should have been fired after his first yr. Training wheels ass head coach.

OU should’ve never followed Texas to the SEC.. Especially knowing how much the playoff was expanding . If you are paying top money for players they’ll go anywhere regardless of conference. The playoff would have been the floor

Didn't see Arch or Chambliss—or any other QB who takes their job seriously—hanging out as much as Mateer.

I’m glad our QB is focused on posting shirtless pics and noise cancelling headphones instead of pissing down his leg literally every game

I think the biggest problem is Mateer, but Arbuckle did bring him from Washington State, so he should know that the guy can't read a defense to save his life. Receivers are frequently schemed open for easy gains, and they don't get hit. But they also can't run the ball. I don't think Venables is a 1-for-1 muschamp type. But I do think that some defensive coaches conduct practice in a way that doesn't allow offense to develop and thrive. It makes me wonder a little bit, but I'm not ready to go there yet.

Before you guys send hate towards Brent Venables, remember you aren't just attacking a coach, but a father, husband, and a Christian. One bad half shouldn't take away what he's brought to this program and we should look forward to continue seeing him lead our Oklahoma Sooners!

I don't know if OU can win any meaningful games with Mateer playing like that. The offensive line wasn't a disaster, but it wasn't good either. And outside of Rocky Beers, they kind of looked like the same offense that Venables criticized for not being physical enough.
