Hola! Soy Obijuan! I'm a researcher on robotics, but I define myself as a hacker. I really believe on the opensource spirit of sharing information. Work at URJC

He migrado el antiguo blog de iearobotics a páginas estáticas en Github, para preservar posts tan míticos como el del nacimiento de Clone Wars, y otros muchos obijuan.github.io/Blog/blog/…

What if you could test your chip design on real hardware before tapeout? 😯 Presenting the Tiny Tapeout Lending Library! Borrow an FPGA kit with Pmods for at least 3 months, test your digital designs, then pass it on to the next person. tinytapeout.com/news/tt-lend…

Open Duck Mini V2 is a 42 cm open-source robot duck with a parts budget under $400. Its walking controller is trained in MuJoCo and runs on a Raspberry Pi. I like that the team shares the CAD files and code so others can study how it moves.
BYD wants 2 3 humanoid robots in every dealership to introduce its cars. Executive vice president Stella Li has described robots explaining vehicle features opening car doors and showing cars to customers. This remains a goal for future deployment. I like the showroom idea because BYD already has places to try it with customers and staff nearby. This clip is a 3D visualization of the design revealed in its new patent create by techniahqrobot. The design includes articulated fingers and joints at the shoulders elbows hips and knees. The patent lists service education and industrial settings as possible uses.

KiCad 10 just dropped. If you still call it a "hobbyist" tool, you're not paying attention. I used Altium Designer at EPFL and in previous industry roles. It’s an absolute luxury. But for the last year running PALROC Engineering, I’ve used KiCad exclusively. And honestly? I couldn’t be happier. With the new V10 release, the feature gap hasn’t just shrunk—for 95% of standard commercial IoT and hardware projects, it’s virtually gone. Here’s why I run my B2B hardware engineering firm entirely on open source: 💰 €10k/year saved – No expensive licenses. That money goes into better lab gear, more prototypes, and growing the business. ⚙️ Commercial readiness – Day by day, version by version, KiCad handles complex routing, large BOMs, and DFM constraints flawlessly. 🤖 The open‑source superpower: AI + Python – Need a custom automation? I don't wait for a corporate patch. I open #Claude, write a Python script, and build the feature myself in 20 minutes. Try that with proprietary software. 🚀 Enterprise‑grade CI/CD – You don't just get a layout tool; you get a community building world‑class workflows. Huge shoutout to Vincent Nguyen for the KDT_Hierarchical_KiBot template. Automated fabrication docs, synced changelogs, and a full CI/CD pipeline inside KiCad? That’s a superpower for scaling teams. Altium is incredible for massive enterprise teams. But for agile hardware startups and modern engineering firms? KiCad is the present and the future. 🔽 Altium loyalists – with KiCad 10 out now, what’s the ONE feature keeping you from switching? Let’s debate below. #HardwareEngineering #KiCad #KiCad10 #Altium #PCBDesign #OpenSourceHardware

I’ve been watching a lot of #Vectrex videos lately and getting really excited about it, as I’m preparing a tutorial on learning #FPGA by recreating a Vectrex on a smallest and cheapest one. Would you be interested? Could you help me spread the word about the poll? #icestudio 👇

Vengo a que perdáis un poco vuestro tiempo. ¿Has crecido bajo MS-DOS? Pues aquí tienes casi 6.000 juegos de los 80/90. Los he traído desde Archive y diseñado como si fueran los 80. Elige tu "monitor", busca el juego e inicia con .EXE o descubre más cosas en "Others". PLAY-DOS
