I was on a privacy compliance team once so Twitter not fulfilling DMs deletion is shocking. DMs are not end to end encrypted so deleting DMs secures #privacy, particularly for EU users. The right to be forgotten is serious in the EU. Don’t ignore #GDPR because it’s inconvenient.
For years, there hasn’t been any clarity around what Twitter’s inbuilt tools for deleting your messages actually do, and research has shown that the platform holds deleted DMs within its servers for years.

Today in New Orleans, we launched French for All, a new initiative that supports equity in access to French language programs from kindergarten through higher education across the US and harnesses the rich network of @franceintheus and @villa_albertine.
