Hey @AlaskaAir and @stripe I absolutely love that you're offering Google Pay for the inflight Wi-Fi purchase 🌐💳 but unfortunately it's not working 😕 Can you fix it? 🛠️
Welcome #Gemini4Carbon
Announcing Gemini 4 Carbon, our strongest model with state-of-the-art cybersecurity and long horizon capabilities.
Carbon represents a step up across most benchmarks, delivering strong frontier performance in autonomous coding and cyber defense.
We’re first making Carbon available to a subset of trusted cyber defenders in our Fairwind program. We’ll expand access as soon as possible.

Big improvements in carbon, especially given how fast of a follow it is from Argon! Try it out and let us know what you think. 🙌 – at Colnbrook, South East
I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model.
Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching.
We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards.
As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

"Internally, our teams have seen Carbon run for days to persist through dead ends to tackle complex, multi-step engineering tasks like root-causing and patching subtle bugs across large codebases and low-level systems."

Just two weeks after rolling out Gemini 4 Argon, excited to share a preview of Gemini 4 Carbon - our next frontier model. It has state-of-the-art long horizon coding capabilities driving SOTA performance across the cybersecurity defense lifecycle including detection, validation, and remediation. It also ranks #1 overall on the recently updated v5.0 of Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index at 59.
We're starting by rolling out to a subset of cyber defenders through our Fairwind Program this week and soon expanding access further. Read more at: blog.google/innovation-and-a…
A deep transformation requires big changes; congratulations @ankurkotwal
I'm thrilled to share that I’ve been promoted to Director in Google Cloud’s Agent & Developer eXperience organisation!
We are experiencing a fundamental shift in software engineering, moving from traditional workflows to AI-native, agentic development. Leading teams at the forefront of this transformation is both humbling and energising.
None of this happens in a vacuum. Thank you to my phenomenal team whose hard work and creativity make everything possible, and to my mentors and leaders for their continued trust.
Onwards & upwards!
