As you enjoy VisionQuest this week, remember Carl Burgos, creator of the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond. Marvel was so petty back in the day that they brought back the character in a Fantastic Four annual AND KILLED HIM IN THE SAME ISSUE just to prevent the rights from reverting to Burgos. And while comic creators would go on to give him Harvey and Eisner Hall of Fame honors, Marvel never made things right. Remember: What you create for the Big Two isn’t yours.
