I judge my allies by their support of reparations.

“The changes among Black men this year were big enough to shift Black voters overall. About 9 in 10 Black voters supported the Democratic candidate in their local U.S. House race this year, up from about 8 in 10 who supported Harris in 2024.” apnews.com/article/black-vot…

John Kenneth Galbraith wrote The Affluent Society in 1958 about a country drowning in private wealth while its schools, streets and public services went to shit. Nearly 70 years later, Austrian economists are still arguing we haven't privatized enough. Fucking brilliant.

This is such a weird contrarian point @TorraineWalker knows he's not AA yet describes him as such, and also knows or should know the historical reasons for such partisanship “Its crazy Black Americans aren't celebrating Stepin Fetchit as the first successful Black actor” 🙄
It's crazy as hell how people are letting their partisanship lead them into ignoring that an African American man became the Governor of Florida for the first time in history. The same people who celebrate the "First Black" anything...y'all wild.

Only non Black Americans have the luxury to underestimate white supremacists. Ask him in a different context if Trump, Elon or some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in America are white supremacists… and he will concede.
Hasan Piker: “White supremacy is low IQ cope. It comes from a place of weakness. It comes from a place of insecurity. You have to mythologize about this larger race, this mythical race and racial purity and superiority because of what you’re lacking in your own life. I’ve never met a white supremacist who I’m like wow that guy’s going places. He seems like a normal dude. It’s always some freak ass loser who did not achieve what he thought society entitled him”

Despite some progressive words and symbolic gestures, Obama chose to ignore Wall Street crimes, reject bailouts for homeowners, oversee growing inequality and facilitate war crimes like US drones killing innocent civilians abroad.” theguardian.com/commentisfre…

All the legal scholarship agrees lineage based reparations makes a stronger case over raced based yet PAs disagree All the sociological scholarship agrees Afro-immigrants have lower racial consciousness than BAs yet PAs won't admit this What scholarship are PAs using exactly?
African Americans with a Pan African background usually are some of the most intelligent Black folks you can talk to. The reason is rather simple: Pan Africanism requires scholarship, historical context, and the prioritization of primary sources for data analysis.

I voted for Nithya Raman because she pledged to advance reparations for Black Americans in LA. Bass had 4 years & failed to do anything on this . Why expect more? Black L.A. is hanging by a thread & Raman gives us something to work with. Now we must hold her accountable.
🚨Election Call🚨 Councilwoman Nithya Raman will be the 44th Mayor of Los Angeles. Under 50 vote is now 45% of the market share, with no sign of that going down. She won without the standard DSA all-stars of Bernie Sanders, AOC, Mamdani or Ro Khanna endorsing her. It was a City Controller, a Supervisor and a merry band of dedicated volunteers who won this race. Free advice (I am sure me saying it has less value to her and her team). Go Big! Announce a series of Town-halls with Mayor Mamdani across the country setting the “urban agenda” before the 2028 Presidential Cycle, commit to making your endorsements together for the same Dem candidate. Use your bully pulpit for urban centers across the country, become a household name. Rise above City Hall. Or you can play City Hall games and find yourself stuck in the building. Good Luck!

On this day in 1890, Benjamin Ryan Tillman, a violent white supremacist, was elected governor of South Carolina. Prior to being elected, he participated in the 1876 Hamburg Massacre, where white men rioted and killed nine Black people. calendar.eji.org/racial-inju…

Will the people, who wrote all these think pieces about black men, get in front of their laptops and type some shit out about the actual problematic group of voters?
Racial breakdown of 2026 midterm exit polls show that Whites are the only group to lean Republican, with Latinos, Asians, and Blacks firmly voting blue. Folllow: @AFpost

Libertarians have this remarkable ability to recognize that governments can become corrupt, coercive monopolies while remaining completely fucking oblivious to the possibility that private corporations might do exactly the same thing.

@chrisrabb is going to Congress! 💯✊🏾 A descendant of enslaved Americans and a genealogist. But lineage is not decoration, and office is not liberation. The question now is what political power delivers to descendants. #ReparationsNOW inquirer.com/politics/pennsy…

And once y’all HAVE power, the Black American will be pushed to the side
Donavan McKinney pushes back against narratives that pit black and brown communities against each other "At the end of the day, this is about understanding that this is the haves versus the have-nots."

Now if only we could use our voting power as leverage for policy.
"By casting far more ballots than expected by strategists in either party, Black voters are fundamentally shifting the midterm landscape, nudging swing states left and making red states suddenly competitive." politico.com/news/magazine/2…
