𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟭–𝟮 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 Isthmian League South East Division Sheppey United came into the match contending with several key squad updates. D'Jean Spencer was sidelined after suffering a hamstring issue in the recent fixture at Sevenoaks, while Shaq Gordon was unavailable due to suspension. On a positive note, Oghosa Williams stepped up to make his home debut for the Ites. Meanwhile, Alfie Evans and Mams Diallo remained on the injury list with no set return date. The match kicked off at a slow pace, with both sides looking to establish control early on but battling against a strong wind. Sheppey saw an early corner cleared in the 2nd minute, while Hastings had their own set-piece opportunity cleared in the 16th minute. Oghosa Williams looked lively on his home debut and came close in the 28th minute, firing an effort over the bar. Moments later, Cameron Andrews received the game's first yellow card (29'), before Hastings threatened with a header from a free kick that drifted wide (30'). With neither goalkeeper really breaking into a sweat, the teams went into the break level at 0–0. Hastings opened the second half on the front foot, testing Harley Earle with a long-range effort in the 47th minute that the Sheppey keeper dealt with well. Mitchell Chapman then picked up a booking for the visitors in the 51st minute. Sheppey made their first change on the hour mark, with Jack Palmby coming on to replace Mikey Salako (60'). The breakthrough arrived in the 67th minute to the delight of the home support. A dangerous cross from Leonard found Oghosa Williams, who finished calmly to mark his home debut with a goal and put the Ites 1–0 up, and his 3rd goal in 2 games. Shortly after the opener, Sheppey substituted Harry Lawrence for Joe Ganiwa (70'). However, Hastings pushed back hard as the game entered its final quarter. Mo Dabo gave away a free-kick on 78 mintues, which when it was delivered a flicked header from substitute Freddie Legg equalised for the away side to reset the balance at 1–1. Just two minutes later, Hastings completed a rapid turnaround when another substitute, Warren Mfula, the former Ites striker, slotted the ball home to give the visitors a 2–1 lead. Sheppey shuffled their pack in search of an equaliser, introducing Alfie Hilden for Cameron Andrews (85') and Sobhee-Turner for Dabo (88'). The Ites pushed forward relentlessly in stoppage time and came agonizingly close to rescuing a point in the 92nd minute, when Harlain Mbayo rose to meet a ball only to see his powerful header rattle off the crossbar. Despite the late siege, Hastings held on to secure all three points in a dramatic finish. Lineups & Match Details Sheppey United XI: Earle, Lawrence (Ganiwa), Dabo (Sobhee-Turner), Wisson, Mbayo, Clark, Andrews (Hilden), Adjei-Hersey, Leonard, Williams, Salako (Palmby) Unused Subs: Godden Goals: Williams Bookings: Andrews, Palmby Report: Lee Allen Photo: Oliver Belcher

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝟭–𝟮 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 Oghosa Williams stole the show with a quickfire first-half double as Sheppey United earned a 2–1 victory away at Sevenoaks Town to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the Kent Senior Cup. Sheppey threatened early, with Ethan Cole forcing a fine save from Jordan Perrin in the 8th minute via a powered header from a corner. The Ites kept pushing, and D'Jean Spencer came agonizingly close just past the quarter-hour mark—first firing just over from distance before having a goalbound strike cleared off the line in the 15th minute. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 31st minute when Oghosa Williams opened the scoring, finishing cleanly after some magic in the build-up from Ben Clark who not only carved out a great run, but put a great ball across the box for the new striker to convert. Just six minutes later, Williams produced a moment of magic. Spotting Perrin off his line, Williams unleashed a stunning 25-yard lob over the Sevenoaks keeper to double Sheppey’s advantage, with the assist from Simon Kabamba equally as good. The half wasn't without setbacks for the Ites, as Spencer was forced off in the 38th minute with a potential hamstring injury, replaced by Danny Leonard. Sevenoaks looked for an immediate response, rattling the crossbar in the 42nd minute before Harley Earle produced a sharp save from a free-kick to preserve the two-goal cushion going into the break. Sheppey introduced Kaelem Sobhee-Turner at halftime for Ben Clark, and the substitute immediately made an impact, winning set pieces and driving the Ites forward. Williams almost completed a stunning hat-trick on the 55-minute mark, but Perrin saved his first attempt before the follow-up cleared the crossbar. At the other end, Earle and the Sheppey defence stood firm, comfortably dealing with a spell of Sevenoaks corners past the hour mark. Changes late on saw Mikey Salako, Mo Dabo, and Josh Wisson introduced as Sheppey looked to manage the closing stages. Sevenoaks managed to set up a tense finish when they pulled a goal back in the 87th minute to make it 2–1. However, the Ites managed the final moments calmly to lock down the victory and ensure their name is in the hat for the Kent Senior Cup quarter-finals. Lineups & Match Details Sheppey United XI: Earle, Ganiwa, Kabamba (Dabo), Cole, Mbayo, Clark (Sobhee-Turner), Hilden, Palmby, Adjei-Hersey (Wisson), Spencer (Leonard), Williams (Salako) Unused Subs: 0 Goals: Williams x 2 Bookings: 0 Report: Lee Allen

𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗬 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗚𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗠𝗦 Sheppey United Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of dynamic, forward Oghosa Williams. The striker arrives at Holm Park following a sensational campaign in the non-league pyramid, bringing an eye for goal, electric pace, and sharp movement in the final third straight to the Ites' frontline. A Proven Goalscorer Williams caught the attention of scouts across the region following a standout, record-breaking spell with AFC Greenwich Borough in the Southern Counties East Football League (SCEFL), where his staggering goalscoring form—netting 40 goals overall and securing individual accolades—proved his status as one of the most feared young attackers outside the professional leagues. After earning a high-profile move to Isthmian League side Whitehawk and then a brief stint at Margate, Williams now brings his talents to Sheppey United to bolster the club's attacking options. Manager Ian Batten said, "Oghosa is a player we’ve tracked closely, and his record speaks for itself. He’s sharp, hungry, and knows exactly where the back of the net is. He’s going to give defenders nightmares, and we are delighted to welcome him to Sheppey." Please join us in giving a massive Ites welcome to Oghosa Williams as he pulls on the red and white shirt - possibly at Sevenoaks Town on Wednesday! Welcome to the Island, Oghosa! 🔴⚪
