I was so pleased to join the @cbusmetroclub today for a conversation about our work to move Ohio State forward as the nation's finest public university and the crucial role that higher education plays in growing the economic competitiveness and well-being of our community. We're fortunate that leaders across Columbus are aligned around the importance of excellence in academics, research, healthcare and athletics at our flagship university. Today we took an extraordinary step forward in building a thriving innovation ecosystem in Ohio. The groundbreaking for the Timashev Technology Tower at Ohio State's Innovation District is about more than a building – it's about the new ideas, technologies and companies that will result when students, faculty, staff, industry experts and entrepreneurs are working side-by-side to advance research and discovery in the life sciences, software innovation, AI and more. I'm so grateful to Ratmir and Angela Timashev, JobsOhio, our city and state, and all the partners who made this milestone possible. The future of growth and innovation in Ohio is bright!

In a special "Pass the Mic," we meet Professor David Nagib, who was announced this evening as one of three Blavatnik National Awards Laureates, becoming the first-ever Ohio State faculty member to earn this extraordinary honor. The Blavatnik awards were created to honor the nation's most promising young scientists tackling major global challenges. Dr. Nagib's pioneering work in @OSU_CBC is helping chemists create more potent and selective medicines in a faster, more affordable, more efficient manner - advances that are accelerating pharmaceutical discovery and expanding what's possible in modern organic chemistry.
