He might be a little under the radar but the HC at Eastern New Mexico has exceptionally deep Texas roots at both the high school and college level, and his offensive scheme has been one of the most influential and innovative in all of football over the past couple of decades 🤔
Early buzz is that Baylor is looking for a candidate with deep Texas roots and an offensive background, sources tell @On3.

I mean to be honest us screwing up a 4th and short offensively at this point is reaching “3rd and Chavis” levels of predictability. It’s kind of stunning how consistently ill prepared we are for these high leverage situations and it’s cost us dearly.
Honestly the only justification I can see for not benching Reed at this point is protecting Hart’s confidence. If this season is gonna be the dumpster fire it’s shaping up to be then maybe it’s best not to make him eat that shit sandwich down the stretch.
This is the stuff that century-long title drought curses are made of. The ghosts of these employees will haunt the franchise for decades after their passing.
The Knicks' assistant coaches did not receive their championship rings during Tuesday's ceremony, despite being handed ring boxes, according to league sources.
Many longtime employees at Madison Square Garden will not receive rings at all, per team sources.
Those employees got their hopes up in late September, when they were sent a fake championship ring offer as part of a phishing test.

Oh this is excellent stuff
The hidden world inside NFL headsets is as complex and strategic as it is chaotic: a textured audio landscape of intense competition, stress, dramatically shifting emotions, unwritten rules and even absurdity.

Weird stat: No team in college football history has defeated BYU a year after turning down a Pop-Tarts Bowl invite to play BYU the previous season
see this is what makes the battle for the bonham trophy the greatest rivalry in college football. the hatred between a&m and sc runs so deep we can barely stand to mention each other’s school by name.
Which SEC rival lives rent-free in each fanbase’s head
The SEC Obsession Matrix: another installment in my NLP analysis of SEC Reddit communities. Game weeks between teams are excluded.
For example, Florida fans mention Ole Miss 17 times per 1,000 comments, Georgia 15, Auburn 14, and Alabama just 7.
yeah this one-shotted me 😵💫
My friends and I found this obscure Swedish browser-based golf video game, and now we're addicted: golfdigest.com/story/executi…
100% this. There are flashes of an offense that could be pretty good, or at least competent, but we make sequencing successful plays into a scoring drive look like a near impossible task.
I wonder how this season would be going if Bussey hadn’t gone down on the opening kick vs UK because he was the one X factor guy on the offense who it felt like we could rely on for a shot of juice to get things going or convert a critical 3rd/4th down. Without him we’ve just been impotent and lost.
I love the honesty and this actually happens quite a bit.
Most offenses and defenses look good in the offseason, fall camp, and spring ball. But the difference in an actual game is your ability to stack drives and sustain execution (which rarely gets replicated in practice).
A lot of teams don’t do enough unscripted, move the ball work in practice. Scripted 3rd down / redzone periods are great, but they don’t always replicate the flow and unpredictability of a game.
Game day exposes which offenses and defenses truly understand situations, timely play calling and details of a play.
It comes down to several things:
Can the playcaller put his players in a position to execute?
Can all 11 players operate in unison and execute their assignments?
Are the coaches and players prepared for what the opposing team might do and can they adjust when the opponent shows something that wasn’t on film?
And ultimately, can the players process that information and play instinctively?
That’s where preparation, situational awareness, and execution come together. It’s one thing to execute a play when you know what’s coming. It’s another to do it consistently when the game becomes unpredictable.
Must be able to put drives together. Not just for points, but for field position.
FWIW this is also why I have my reservations about making a change at QB. Hart very well could turn out to be a great college QB but throwing him into a dysfunctional offense that can’t run the ball or execute basic concepts with a playcaller who seems lost is likely to just wreck his confidence too.

I’m gonna say this louder for the folks in the back: if your QB can’t reliably complete 5+ short/intermediate passes to manufacture a long scoring drive, what’s the harm in taking more shots downfield? Oh he’s gonna throw some incomplete passes? Dawg he can’t hit a shallow drag.
