I feel like one of the biggest problems with the “Bad Future” trend Silver had was people trying to make Sage Silver’s “Eggman” rather than her own character. Sage and Eggman, despite being family and having similar goals, are INCREDIBLY different people, and would not operate-
In general, I think us Silver fans need to realize that we shouldn’t just cram things into Silver that he doesn’t need. Silver’s his own guy, and we need to take time and care to give him his own stuff. Sage could be a good villain for him, but we gotta make her be her own thing
Anyway just a few thoughts I had lol. Hopefully I came across clearly, I’m happy to clear up any confusion though. Also I want to make it clear that I still LOVED the trend, I just felt there were a lot of flaws. Here’s a great example of the idea done well.

My take on Sonic ages is that the old ages were ass and shouldn’t be counted, but new ages aren’t really needed. Every character pretty clearly falls into either the child, young adult/older teenager, or grown-ass person category, so specific ages don’t really matter.

I find the whole “Blaze be retired” debate funny because no one is a bigger fan of that idea than Sega themselves. They do NOT give a shit about her and don't even try to do things with her. If it wasn’t for their mandates with Silver, she would have been long gone by now
Like when was the last time Blaze had her own story? When was the last time she was the true focus of anything? When was the last time she got cool merch??? She has been reduced entirely to others’ emotional crutches rather than her own character. They truly do not care about her
