Slot: 364 matches, 219 wins, 60.2% win rate. Iraola: 384 matches, 147 wins, 38.3% win rate. But hey were entertaining right.

This only proves how embarrassing the fanbase was and how badly the players let Slot down. He took the fall for everyone's shortcomings. If we continue this way, we're heading towards becoming Man Utd. Do people think that rot will stop with Slot? It'll consume Iraola too, sadly.
Ignoring the style of play and results, I think people forget how toxic it was at the end. We had fans booing and walking out at Anfield, players liking posts calling out the manager and a dressing room not behind him. I’ve never seen that here. There was no way he couldn’t go.

Slot will be viewed very differently in hindsight when we've gone a decade without winning a PL title. Remember this tweet.

Look at the build-up, the progression, the patterns. He isolated his wingers to perfection. They didn't have to run around like headless chickens. This was the closest thing to elite football we've seen since the 21/22 Liverpool side.

Nope. Slot asked for a DM and Hughes failed to deliver. Slot’s job as head coach was to coach and prepare the team. Recruitment, squad building, football operations and long-term planning sat above him. The club neglected the DM, CB and wide positions for years. That’s on the DOF.
Replying to @SophieJovi
Yes he did lmao. Do you seriously think the club would just buy random people for the coach ? He said it himself, he worked very close with Hughes to make the right decisions for the club and every player that was signed was vetoed by him

People don't want Iraola sacked; they are simply pushing back on the obscene narratives they were forced to swallow last year, which got a Premier League-winning manager sacked. Now, the same ones who pinned everything on one man are talking about an "Imbalanced squad," "Lack of options," and the need to rest players because, without a CF, we would be in big trouble (Remind me who played CF when Hugo tore his Achilles last season)? All the talking points about why we should be happy fighting for the top 4 were ignored last season, so pardon me if people think you are disingenuous for using them as an excuse for the manager this season.

He had to be sacked, damage was done, players gave up. But the players + management threw him under the bus entirely. He’s a top top manager
Don’t care what anyone says, sacking him was a stupid decision.

That bald fraud on the touchline not training these players intensely enough and doesn’t know how to coach a press and isn’t playing Calvin Ramsay or Federico Chiesa or Wataru Endo and doesn’t know how to use Florian Wirtz and insists on playing Cody Gakpo all the time. BUCK STOPS WITH BALDY!

If current squad is final there's a strong case the #LIV squad is BETTER v last season. OUT Salah (7 PL goals), Konaté (abysmal), Robbo (backup), Jones IN Jacquet, Tsimi, Elliot, Munoz, Araujo, Barcola + Isak/Leoni's back, Rio/Nyoni +1y, Wirtz etc 1y top club under their belt.
If this is the end of Liverpool's summer business, there's a strong case to be made that the squad has become weaker compared to last season. A proper mess of a window.

Let’s take a step back here. Last season, these guys were saying Slot spent hundreds of millions of pounds and demanded his sacking because he didn't get the best out of the talent available. Iraola has inherited that squad with all that money plus added hundreds of millions more, and yet the narrative has shifted to one that suggests he is underprepared I have stayed consistent that the players underperformed last season, and have ALOT of making up to do ( so far, the wingbacks are as bad as they were last season ) It's about time these guys did the same, because the flip-flopping is embarrassing.
If Paul Joyce is right and LFC aren’t bringing in another player this transfer window, then it’s been an absolute SHAMBLES of a window. A frigging disgrace. They’ve set Iraola up to fail and left this squad short in numerous positions. There can be NO excuses for this. You simply don’t bid for 3 wingers and then walk away when you’ve had 6 months to bring in a right winger! I’m fuming! #LFC

🔥 NOEL GALLAGHER RIPS INTO FURY-JOSHUA: “IT’S A P!SS TAKE” IF THEY TAKE IT TO AMERICA! Speaking ringside at Itauma vs Hrgovic, the Oasis legend said he’s bored of the saga, but he still wants to see it. And it should be in England. “If it’s in America it’s a bit of a p!ss take to the English fight fans who’ve paid all the money down the years to see that fight.” He’s right. The fight should 100 percent be at Wembley Stadium. He went on to say it’s like Oasis reuniting and not playing Manchester. Then he said don’t buIIsh!t everyone and just admit it’s about the money: “Fighters want to make as much money as possible. Just say it. Nobody would care one way or the other. Don’t do the dance and buIIsh!t everybody.” Noel says the fight is too late but would still be epic if it was at Wembley: “This fight is ten years too late anyway. But if it was at Wembley it would be one of the most monumental occasions in boxing ever in this country. If it’s in Madison Square Garden, Pay Per View, whatever.” Can’t disagree with that. The location can still make this a great occasion. Not the same in the US. Noel is then asked if he’d ever have a fight. He laughs it off and says no. If he had to pick someone? The taxman! 😭

When players left last season or wanted to leave, all blame went to the manager. Today, somehow the manager isn’t catching any heat. I wonder why.

Iraola may or may not make it here - and I like him, he's a decent bloke - but for certain they picked him because they knew him, not because he was the right fit for the job - because on paper he's anything but. I hope he figures it out, but he couldn't be less suited.

The money talked about for Gakpo £80/85M we should sell. With Barcola arriving he will be a squad player. We need to use that money for a right winger & give the squad a better balance.
Van Dijk on Gakpo: "He's a quality player. I think we should keep quality players. Let's see what the next few days bring. I want him to stay not only because he's a quality player but also because he's a friend of mine. He's very important for us." #LFC nytimes.com/athletic/7549589…
