Tend to pass on Magic The Gathering sets, but Marvel Legends Malice was a must for my Fantastic Four shelf! Sue Storm’s dark side is so good it shows how much Hasbro needs to update the family! The red is a solid piece so need an extra to just paint & display the alternate head.

#comictwt #xmen I know I'm late to this, what with being a college student and all, but I finally got around to reading Midnight X-Men—it did not disappoint. Johnathan Hickman delivers something that, similar to Midnight Spider-Man, takes established tropes and adds some twist: here, it's vampiric lore transfused with the sociopolitical undertones of the X-Men. What you get is the X-Men's classic "us vs. them" debate, but dialed up to 11 as vampire mutants, called empyres, are enthralled to one another, magnifying their abilities. The "X-Men" (quotation marks since technically the empyres aren't X-Men anymore) here have never been more unified in their bond and kinship, and yet, they simultaneously have never been more polarized and alienated from themselves and humankind. Rather than the Professor teaching that the X-Men aren't defined by their power, but who they are and what they do with those powers, there is no Professor in this first issue. Instead, a bunch of legacy empyres who define themselves through their blood-red eyes and razor-sharp canines. This raises some questions for me, though: namely, how these vampires differentiate from the typical folklore ones, because here, and slight spoiler-warning, they seem less driven by blood-thirst; instead, calculated and ideological. Nightcrawler, for instance, is the bishop, or pope, of his archdiocese in New York, but is the last, along with one other mysterious figure, 'X-man,' who hasn't been converted as a vampire. Despite this, the empyres don't touch Kurt, as some other mysterious figure has ordered them empyres not to touch him. So, while there are mutant vampires, there's a chain of command and sense of honor about them that plays an important function in the cohabitation between empyres, mutants, and humans—a fact that is elaborated with lore drops dispersed throughout the 40-something panels. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the artwork, though, as Matteo Della Fonte (penciller) and Arthur Hesli (colorist) fcking nail the tone, balancing between realism and horror with soft edges that allow subdued colors to wash around, while the textures and shadows dominate the expressions and mannerisms of the world and characters. In a way, the artwork itself feels untrustworthy, since there aren't too many sharp edges to rely on, which I think helps drive in the unease and vampiric fear really well. For whatever reason, I am a lot more interested in Midnight Spider-Man right now as I relate to its world and set-up more, but I think once this series gets its footing, it'll contend as the quintessential Midnight series. Also, and very briefly, I forgot to mention, but the exposition and interactive world-building captivate my attention. Midnight Spiderman did this with the Newspapers you could read about the Oscorp subjects, and here there's a document that outlines the anatomical and biometric parameters and differences between empyres, mutants, and normal vampires, including their weaknesses and strengths, among others. Really, really cool information to read that makes you feel like a denizen of the world who just so happened to stumble upon some sensitive document or secret experiment. Having the reader be the one to interpret the document, rather than a narrator or character, heightens that experience tenfold. Anyway, I'm excited to see where this goes next!! On to Midnight Fantastic Four!!

The two that started it all for me: The first comic I ever bought. November 1984, G.I. Joe #32. I collected until the series ended with #155. If I couldn't get the back issues, I snag Tales of G.I. Joe to get them. I collected the Dark Horse, Image and DDP of Joes before I quit collecting them. February 1988. A buddy in high school said, since I like G.I. Joe so much, that I'd probably be into the Punisher. He wasn't wrong. I picked up issue #9 and was instantly hooked on the character, his motivations, everything. It's pretty well known, I have every Punisher comic, appearance, cameo and even mentions from Amazing Spider-Man #129 10/73 (yes it's October 1973 not Feb 1974) to 2011. Back before the Internet it was a bitch trying to find the cameos and mentions for other titles, but I did it.

X-Men chronological reading order (1/21) X Men chronological collection reading order ============================================ Somebody requested that I share my chronological X-Men read order, so here it is. I do read digital. My dad has physical copies of most everything anyway, and I read a lot of physical comics too, but a lot of my actual reading is digital nowadays. There's so much, and I read all the time. This is based on the original NERONE pack. Someone else took it from there and improved it, and then I took it on as a personal project. I've been working on it for a long time, adding missing comics, expanding the collection, reorganizing things, and adjusting the order as I read. I've now reached the Muir Island Saga. This list covers everything I have from the X-Men's first appearance in 1963 through the most recent comics in my collection, but I've only personally read, refined, and adjusted the order through the Muir Island Saga. Everything after that is the order as collected, not a section I've finished refining yet. Because I'm reading so much, I'll try to update this to match the latest version and repost a new copy every couple of months if I can. That way, you'll have the most recent version of my read order. The original request came through a DM, but I figured I'd knock out two birds with one stone. He gets the read order he asked for, and I get something else to share here on X while I'm trying to grow. It also gave me some ideas for other read-order and watch-order projects. I'll be sharing a separate Marvel movie watchlist broken down by phases, another one for DC, and a deeper Marvel watchlist that includes the TV shows for anyone who really wants to dive into that world. Because I have OCD, I keep my read orders meticulous over time and refine them as I'm reading. As I catch up on some of my other comics, I'll try to share more reading orders too, including Grimm Fairy Tales and some of the other things I'm reading, if I get the chance. USING THIS READING ORDER The main chronological packs come first, followed by separate Not in Continuity 1 and Not in Continuity 2 lists. Read each list from top to bottom. Entry labels use M for the main list, A for Not in Continuity 1, B for Not in Continuity 2 and S for unplaced material. Pack and subfolder numbers are retained. Consecutive issues are grouped only when no other source file interrupts them. Annuals, guest appearances, specials and repeat copies keep their positions. Order checks mark unnumbered additions, repeated position labels and numbering gaps. These entries are retained, not silently corrected. The unnumbered sort folder appears separately after the three lists. Collection snapshot 27 October 2026. 9,518 comic or archive files, five New X-Man image items and a 200-image trading-card set are represented by 5,047 reading entries across 1,549 folders including the collection root. Has anyone ever submitted comics for grading through @PSAcard and then have them sent to @shortboxed for auction? This hands down has to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had through the hobby. There’s zero transition from PSA to Short Boxed. Nobody from either platform can give me any updates if my comics have sold or link them to my Short Boxed account. You know is I get paid for my items! #thehobby #thehobbyfamily

It’s one thing to watch someone become a monster, but another to feel everything that person is losing along the way. Tom Rhys Harries gives an astounding performance in Clayface, bringing an emotional weight to the horror in a way that feels incredibly personal. Happy anniversary to Matt Hagen, who debuted in DETECTIVE COMICS #298.
