Not allowing Holly Newton to be classed as a victim of domestic abuse is the biggest disrespect to Holly Newton's life and her bereaved family.
If a 15-year-old girl is coercively controlled by an abuser, then she is a victim of domestic abuse. No ifs or buts.
Change is needed.

15-year-old Holly Newton’s murder should move all of us to speak out and raise awareness of coercive control. What are our govt, police, schools and employers doing to tackle this? Why should Holly’s harms be classed as knife crime?!

This 2015 article by @DrLynziA is a good introduction to the recent research that shows that the legal model of client criminalisation harms sex workers. Sex workers in Ireland feel stigma more sharply that workers in Scotland and New Zealand.

The panel finishes with a call to support @CasaXochiqetzal in Mexico. It is a retirement home for street workers and they have experienced a smear campaign recently which has resulted in a drop in much needed donations.
