Realize also that information processing is bounded by human taste because these models are being trained to capture economic value. Taste can’t be perfectly predicted. These things aren’t omniscient. Humans themselves are irrational— markets are irrational.

What will a cat do with an rtx 3090? This sort of cross species jump in super-intelligence that will render all humans useless is based on very bad intuitions. It would necessarily have to be much more gradual. I am actually far more concerned of other AI risk than this aspect.

I am very skeptical of the idea that human just wake up in 2029 in Cyberpunk 2077 without using their brains in the meanwhile, there are constraints to information processing, you couldn’t have built an iPhone in the 1400s with your Opus 7.5 because of feedback loops
