Sorry about this. We just recently added the Cmd-Delete shortcut intended as a force-delete shortcut but didn't know that it conflicts with a macOS text input shortcut, and there's a bug causing it to remain active while the terminal is in focus. It's already fixed in the next version which is being tested and will be released soon.

apple shipping a worse version of @orbstack is nice validation :) we have way lower memory usage and better integrations honored to have coined the term 'machines' (not VMs) for this type of primitive
One of my personal favorite features announced at WWDC will I suspect be a sleeper hit: container machines, allowing your Mac to run a lightweight, persistent Linux environment with your home directory and repos automatically mounted: github.com/apple/container/b…

can you grab a report from Help > Upload Diagnostics next time this happens and DM it to us?

The migration from Docker Desktop to @OrbStack is the slickest thing I have seen in recent times.

orbstack x ghostty!

Yeah! @OrbStack 2.0 embedded Ghostty as their built-in terminal (via libghostty). If you use OrbStack, you're now also using Ghostty. So cool to see this. I think we'll only see more of this when libghostty stabilizes and gets packaged properly.

in case you're wondering, we're safe from the latest docker CVE
orbstack doesn't have this problem :) (firewall checks incoming interface to block connections to internal tcp proxy)

are you hard-coding IPs of orbstack machines? if so, switch to using orb.local domains. the default IP ranges changed in 2.0

I have been using @OrbStack for more than a month now, and it is a perfect replacement for the Docker Desktop. It's extremely lightweight and can create VMs along with containers.

Switched to @OrbStack with just `orb migrate docker` and everything's flawlessly up and running. Thank you @kdrag0n

.local is supposed to be handled by macOS (mDNSResponder), and that's necessary for OrbStack domains to work. I'd recommend removing the dnsmasq as it could cause issues with other apps too. You can also choose not to use orb.local domains; port forwards and IPs are supported.
