Everyone’s starting to recognise how important provenance really is.
Our Ordinal Punks have about as strong a provenance story as you can get: ultra-early Bitcoin art fused with original Punk lineage.
Tough to beat that combination 🔥

I’m biased but I don’t think opensea can do justice to ordinals the same way we can. Hope you check us out.

My birthday is this Saturday ! Instead of receiving any gifts, I would really just love my amazing friends at @opensea to support all the Bitcoin Ordinal collections and their communities. Would be the best 🎁 ever

Today is the 6th anniversary of the launch of Cryptopunks, arguably one of the most important and influential digital art projects ever. I would argue that. Certainly a major spark moment for the entire genre of of NFTs to follow. A short history 🧵about the next few days... 1/

8+ years and still the clearest reference point for why provenance matters.

The filter existing on ME and now on @ord_net means the data point survived the platform switch. That's the provenance argument in practice - the inscriptions outlasted the marketplace that first surfaced them.

Imagine Bitcoin treasury companies with world-class art collections.
In @BitcoinMagazine, I outline why this matters — and why now is the time to start.

"PUNKS"
Ordinal Punks weren’t just early. They were among the first 650 inscriptions ever made, securing their place as pioneers of the Ordinals movement. Created by @FlowStayy , a key figure in the early Ordinals scene, the collection draws from the iconic CryptoPunks, bringing pixel art to Bitcoin, fully on-chain and immutable.
No IPFS, no shortcuts. Each punk is inscribed directly onto Bitcoin, making them permanent digital artifacts. In a sea of imitators, Ordinal Punks stand as the original punks of the Bitcoin timechain, blending cultural legacy with protocol-level permanence.

Shout out to @bitcoinbeezy and his enormous work in documenting ordinals early days and subsequent relevant collections, we love your reports, thanks a lot 🙏
Max support from @OrdinalPunks @Squanchland and many more servers/communities I'm part of 🔥
1/ Since ordinals launched on mainnet I’ve been creating collection reports for various projects in the space, but mostly for sub1k collections.
I think degeneracy is an unfortunate side effect of liquidity and ease of transacting and I think it’s unfortunate that these narratives / ideals overshadow much of the amazing creativity, thoughtfulness and technical innovation some artists and project founders have put into their work.
My collection reports attempt to shine light on some of the creativity, history, and lore behind the projects in a magazine style format.
I originally created these because I was longing for content that actually focused on the art and the interesting aspects of the work and I wanted to demonstrate that their is real substance to ordinals projects if you can look beyond the “buy my bags posts.”
There are so many amazing ordinals collections with incredible backstories of how projects came to be and were inspired, my reports don’t even scratch the surface. As I have time I’ll try to make more, but hope to see others in the space take up the effort.
All featured collections to date in my reports include @nodemonkes @ordrocks @OrdinalPunks @InscribedPepe @OrdinalMaxiBiz @TwelveFolders and a few other @sub1k_ordinals collections
