While disappointing, they are completely correct that users would lie about using AI if it negatively affected their attention and traffic. No system works if simply lying undermines it.
As AI gets better, it will become more difficult to prove that a user used AI to assist or generate their content. It would not be a future proofed system, because years from now it will be impossible to know definitively if an honest user created the world, or someone who is passing their AI-generated content off as handmade made it.
The human-authored tag is a much more friendly, innocent way of marking your content as non-AI, and it is likely that if a world clearly using AI uses the human-tag that it will receive a proportionally larger number of dislikes. I think it is a good way to test the waters, though it is an unsatisfying solution.
I hate that AI has made creators feel like they need to prove to the world "I made this!" and if they don't it may be glossed over compared to the quickly slapped-together ideas from others. It is sad.

I'll reserve my opinions of hardware entrepreneurs in my VR hobby, but at least PiShock is something built from the ground up.
I'll never forgive Babble for taking an open source, community project and turning it into a for-profit hardware company + changing the source license.

I've been playing around in @BasisVR and made a minecraft style world generator.
There's an upcoming load test where they're going to fit 1500 players in one instance. I highly recommend attending you'll be blown away if vrc is all you've played.
