Thousands of simple cells, each with its own random brain. They eat, hunt, stick together and evolve while you watch.
Nothing is scripted. Here’s how it works.
Desktop build can run up to 1m+ particles.
My RTX 3090 can run up to 328k particles at 60 fps
(I need a new GPU)
This is where origin started.
@fraserpricee’s cellular automata project, running on a much larger scale, gave me the spark to build my own simulation.
Web browser can currently simulate up to 50,000 particles utilizing your CPU & GPU
I'm working on a desktop app to sim upto 1m + particles
Why? idk because cool
The dish:
- Green dots are grazers. They eat the food that grows in the jelly
- Hollow rings are hunters. They eat grazers
- Colour shows family. Kids look like their parents, with small changes
-Every cell has a tiny brain that decides where to move
The dish tells its own story as it goes:
- Families rise and die out
- Hunters crash, then new ones drift in
- Summer and winter change how much food grows
- A live feed shows what just happened, and you can jump to the spot
