6 of 7 local-first ideals, adapted for agents. The seventh is being built.
Your AI agent isn't yours if it needs someone else's server. In 2019, I read an essay about local-first software that I never got over. Seven years later, I built Osaurus around it. Here's why the thing that knows how you think should belong to you.

122B parameters. 42.6 GB. 262k context. Vision and video. Asked it to look into the new Tesla Roadster and make a flying car game. It pulled the specs, wrote one HTML file, syntax-checked it with Node, and shipped a playable demo. huggingface.co/OsaurusAI/Orn…

128GB of unified memory deserves a great local AI app. Osaurus for Windows is in public beta: native ARM64, run local models and agents on-device, no command line required. osaurus.ai/windows
NVIDIA RTX Spark PCs are available today. Explore systems from @ASUS, @Dell, @HP, @Lenovo, @Microsoft, and @msiUSA — your AI development machine, creative workstation, and gaming PC, ready to go wherever you do.

Osaurus for Windows has built-in privacy controls to protect your sensitive information. Watch an accountant’s workflow: Claude Sonnet 5.5 drafts a letter to the IRS while the client’s name, SSN, and other sensitive details never leave the PC.

SwiftUI is monumentally bad. One of the first things that I did for @OsaurusAI was to refactor every core feature to AppKit. The performance has been remarkable ever since
SwiftUI is not good. It's been 8 years. We all need to admit that it was ok when we were coding, and it's just plain bad now that agents are doing the work. UIKit/AppKit are simply better across the board in the agentic era.

Was fun working on this feature! Osaurus lets you keep your private life private even when using cloud models.

Before anything goes to a cloud model, Osaurus scans the message for sensitive info and offers to redact it. The model only ever sees placeholder tags. When its reply comes back, Osaurus swaps the real values back in — locally. Your sensitive data stays on your device.

A therapist asked for a review of three patient records. LFM2.5-24B-A2B read every file, tracked PHQ-9 and GAD-7 scores, flagged what's unresolved, wrote the questions for next session. 11 steps. Under 2 minutes. Fully offline. Zero data leaves the Mac.
Today we release 𝙻𝙵𝙼𝟸.𝟻-𝟸𝟺𝙱-𝙰𝟸𝙱, the largest 𝙻𝙵𝙼𝟸.𝟻 family member. It is an efficient local model for laptops and PCs to work through multi-step tasks inside popular agent harnesses. > 24B total parameters, 2B active per token > Context expanded to 131K tokens > A 128K-token vocabulary > 33T pretraining tokens > It is a reasoning model > Very easy to fine-tune and customize > Performs competitively with Qwen3.6-35B-A3B, a model with ~50% more total and active parameters, on agentic and tool-use tasks. > Open base and post-trained weights on @huggingface 🤗 1/

Your Mac just built a game without asking the internet. One prompt. A plan. Three files. Playable Tetris with a ghost piece and hold queue. Pure Swift. No Python. Nothing left the machine. MiniCPM-V 4.7 35B-A3B, fully offline in Osaurus.
🚀 Introducing MiniCPM-V 4.7, our new open-source MLLM series! Advancing the Performance–Efficiency Pareto Frontier. It brings strong multimodal capabilities to iOS and Android devices with extreme efficiency. Two new models: 🔹 MiniCPM-V 4.7 35B-A3B — Bring SOTA performance to local devices with newly introduced LES (Lookahead Expert Scheduling) technique, a new milestone of on-device multimodal AI. 🔹 MiniCPM-V 4.7 1B — Lightweight, efficient multimodal AI. Easier to deploy. ⚡ What's new? SOTA performance: Competitive results across 34 benchmarks spanning multimodal understanding, STEM reasoning, OCR and long-video comprehension. Fast on-device inference: LES predicts and preloads expert weights to reduce inference stalls, boosting 5× speedup on iPad Pro M4 (16GB) with byte-for-byte identical outputs. It enables MiniCPM-V 4.7 35B-A3B to achieve 17+ tokens/s on iPad Pro M4 (16GB) and 13+ tokens/s on iPhone 17 Pro Max, while costing only 3GB memory 🤯 Efficient visual processing: 4× and 16× hybrid visual token compression. Even at 16× compression, 35B-A3B scores 90.4 on OCRBench, 5.2 points ahead of Qwen3.6 35B-A3B. Easier customization: We introduce Self-Replay Fine-Tuning, a simple way to customize new target capabilities at low cost while maintaining general performance. Broad hardware support: Day-0 adaptations for Apple, Intel, AMD, Arm and Rockchip, with many more platforms supported through FlagOS! Download, deploy, and build something we haven't imagined yet. 👀👇 🔗 GitHub: github.com/OpenBMB/MiniCPM-V 🤗 Hugging Face: huggingface.co/collections/o…
