State officials: Harass and displace unhoused people or else😡
LA County: No, thanks✌️
The data is undeniable. Housing works. Sweeps and jail cells don’t.
What makes Measure A different?🤔
It repeals LA’s existing approach to housing and replaces it with a new one designed by housing experts & community members.
Measure A’s 1/4 cent sales tax increase would fund more investments in homelessness prevention and affordable housing.
And all of the solutions laid out in the measure are backed by data and aim to put the needs of every day Angelenos front and center.

For people with mental illness, consistent treatment is crucial—but LA County is still struggling to meet demand.
Measure A is designed to help close the gap between mental health services & the people who need them—AND pair that support with housing to get people off the streets and create safer, healthier communities for everyone.

This shouldn’t be a surprise: The communities most impacted by homelessness are the ones with the least access to affordable housing.
Measure A, The Bold New Way, would fund the preservation AND production of housing that vulnerable populations in LA can actually afford.
How? By:
➡️Providing rental & legal assistance to keep tenants housed
➡️Cutting red tape to make it faster and cheaper to build affordable housing
➡️Reducing the steps it takes for low-income communities to access stable housing

Measure A would fund the preservation and production of affordable housing across LA County—80% of which would be earmarked for projects that use union labor.
This doesn’t need to be a trade off between paying workers and creating housing.
This Nov ballot measure would also cut red tape around affordable housing—allowing faster & cheaper construction 🛠️and freeing up funds for fair wages, quality healthcare benefits, and safe work conditions for builders👷

In LA County, people are pushed into homelessness faster than they can find affordable housing.
So what’s with the hold up when it comes to building housing that communities can actually afford? 🤔
High costs, lack of public and private investments, exclusionary policies, and more.
Coming up on the November ballot is The Bold New Way 🗳️ a measure that aims to make it faster and cheaper to build affordable housing. How?👇
By improving coordination with the state and federal government to reduce bureaucracy, costs, and delays—and to increase funding for supportive, interim, and affordable housing in Los Angeles County.
