Whether its busses or energy, public ownership just makes sense for workers and communities! tfn.scot/news/public-ownersh…

When a Scottish wind turbine has to be towed 500 miles to Norway just for routine repairs, our industrial policy is broken. 🚢🚩 We have the wind. We have the turbines. It’s time to invest in Scottish ports and keep green jobs right here at home. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚡

It's just common sense. Public stakes in offshore wind would change the game for Scotland.

Thanks for making the point for us. Billpayers did fund the rollout of renewables. So why are private developers keeping Nearly all of the dividends while we’re left with record energy bills? Publicly backed risk should mean publicly shared reward.
We have whisky distilleries everywhere, but we are not benefitting!! What exactly are you suggesting? Renewables are highly subsidised by consumers throughout the UK.

We caught up with @LesleyRiddoch at the SNP conference and had a chat comparing Norway's community ownership of energy to Scotland's largely corporate ownership.⚡️ We've got renewables everywhere, but we're not benefitting. Time to change that!

How can we start pushing back on these out of control energy prices? More community-owned wind. These energy companies only want profits. ScotGov needs to clear the way for more community generation of energy! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚡️ thenational.scot/news/266335…

Alright, who's ready for a wild story this morning? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚡️ Scotland has the world's first ever floating wind farm. It's called Hywind and it's off the coast in the North East.

Think about the jobs that workers here in Scotland are missing out on repairing and servicing these? What are we even doing here?

“Scottish consumer sentiment isn’t great – Scots feel like they get a raw deal with good reason. We have some of the highest energy costs in Europe which is galling given our energy production.” bit.ly/4s3sQBb

Denmark, Norway, and Germany take public equity in offshore wind and use the wealth to fund their public services. Scotland signs over its sea beds to foreign multinationals. We don't lack potential. We lack the backbone to demand a 20% public stake in our own wind. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚡

.@MccailColl is right. A just transition isn't just about jobs, it's about creating a society that works for the wellbeing of people and the environment.
The trend is clear. Any talk of a 'just transition' and renewable development in Scotland has disappeared. Quietly, the economy is being reorganised around arms and data centres (with minimal dissent from our politicians). thenational.scot/news/266302…

This is why we're demanding a real transition! We need to make sure that our communities and workers actual benefit. ⚡️
