“Christ is the only exit from this world; all other exits-sexual rapture, political utopia, economic independence-are but blind alleys in which rot the corpses of the many who have tried them.”
- Saint Seraphim Rose
Speaking of doing more with less…
High-throughput, VHF/UHF optimized custom waveform with positional reporting system, and tiered interface layers ranging from acoustic input on analog radios, wired interfaces, and WiFi/Starlink layers, for robust comms.
For those interested in having resilient and robust communications, very great things are happening in the world of radio.
The latest OpenX6X00 firmware version for the Xeigu X6100 or X6200 comes pre-loaded with the GhostNet frequencies, so that you no longer have to even use a PC or a phone if you don't want to. Now, all we need to get on the GhostNet is the radio and the antenna.
It sounds like minor detail, but up until now, some sort of phone or laptop was needed to control the radio and run the software required for the network. The ability for the radio itself to run all of this software is going to allow us to really shrink down our needs and do so much more, with much less.
I didn't even know the devs had included this from the start, but it's a pleasant surprise to see the main frequencies baked in to the firmware itself. Excellent work!

Currently working on a scalable image transfer system, that dynamically shifts based on the available throughput of the operating mode. For Starlink the image and video files will be at-native resolution. Automatic downsampling will be applied for V/U modes.
He loved the Republic. He was elected because he was a cunning statesman and a man of action. When the bureaucracy of the senate prevented them from taking any action, Palpatine made them make choices.
He loved Anakin. He’d mentored him since he was young. For all the training the Jedi gave him, Palpatine gave him more. He was a friend, and sympathized with his pain, sorrow, and longing when the Jedi told him to bury all of it. When the Jedi held him back, Palpatine encouraged Anakin to reach his full potential. He wanted all the best for Anakin, while the Jedi casted suspicion and judgement on him simply for existing. When he took power, he raised Anakin up with him.
Palpatine was the only one who saw Anakin as the powerful, complete man he could be, and saw the stuffy, useless senate for what it was. All of Anakin’s feelings were justified, and Palpatine was the only one trying to help him through them. The Jedi were trying to seize power, as was Palpatine. They had two entirely different ways they wanted to go about it, but the republic had failed either way.
Many people see star wars I-III as story of good and evil; right and wrong. But the whole point is that there is light and there is dark. One must find the balance. The Jedi refused to let Anakin grow or reward him for his effort. Palpatine offered him no limits, and unlimited power. Both were bad, and there needed to be balance.
This is why the Prophecy failed. Palpatine wasn’t the only one too scared to lose power and control; the Jedi were just as guilty of it. Anakin was not the bad guy, and Palpatine was not the only bad guy. The Jedi were just as guilty of wrong as him.
I would like to see ConceptualJames discourse someone like Slotkin.

I am not interested in having conversations with people who openly say they want to destroy me and mine. That is cosmic levels of fucking retarded.

If you're going to be hunted, you need to be organizing support at the local and state level.
The only way to end the hunting is to be a harder and more costly target than they're willing to pursue.
Much easier said than done, of course.
Excellent work/analysis by @JayDyer from Jay's Analysis.
When he gets to the commentary regarding Frank Kitson, he connects a lot of threads.
I, especially, appreciate his mention of Cass Sunstein's Cognitive Infiltration, the Gray Zone and LIC.

I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.
