I overwrote my keyboard's firmware so that it runs a tiny character-level language model to predict the next key you'll hit. It has per-key backlight LEDs and just lights up the ones you're likely to hit. All inference local on the microprocessor - works without the computer too!

Today's the day ChatGPT-6 Astra will release. The most powerful AI model ever made, with enough usage to do what you want Days like this don’t happen often. It’s absolutely critical you lock in: 1. Test these models the moment they drop 2. Audit all of your personal operating systems. Put your Grok Bot/Hermes/ business/ career other operating systems through it to see what it thinks 3. If you don’t have your own personal benchmark tests based on your every day workflows and tasks, build them now (will open source mine soon) 4. Put these new models on your latest projects. See how they hold up against what you were doing before 5. Plug them into your Hermes/OpenClaw. Measure cost per task vs speed 6. Have these newer models review your code built by older models. Find security gaps/optimization opportunities the less intelligent models couldn’t find before 99.99% of the world won’t even know what’s happening today. You’re going to be the .01% that jumps on this and attacks Lock in.

Someone 'accused' me of vibe coding the LFRR simulator. I've been coding since 1982, I've hand assembled machine code, injected fixes into running processes, worked on software that's made it to Mars and worked as a software developer for decades. OF COURSE I USED AI CODE TOOLS

Checking the URL didn't save 29 organizations from an infostealer. The link really did go to claude.ai. This is a Claude Artifact. Anyone can make one (a web page, a chart, a document) and publish it publicly on claude.ai.

We are overwhelmed with the community support pouring in for Angela. She has been sobbing nonstop from the gratitude. Every time she sees a name she recognizes, she shares the story of the conference she met them at. I have a rekindled love for this community. ❤️ givesendgo.com/anchors-for-a…

the fast16 malware was almost certainly targeting spherical implosion simulations. left: unmodified LS-DYNA 970 right: LS-DYNA 970 modified with the relevant portions of fast16.sys both running a spherical implosion deck

We don't need humanoid robots to sweep the house. No hint of the image of God for clankers. We need R2D2s. The world needs trash can robots and fix-it droids.

New Robinhood phishing chain that's kinda beautiful: 1. Attacker creates an RH account using the Gmail dot trick of your email (same inbox, different address) 2. Sets device name to HTML 3. RH's "unrecognized activity" email renders the device name unsanitized (html injection) The result is a real email from [email protected], DKIM pass, SPF pass, DMARC pass, with a phishing CTA Just because it's real, doesn't mean it's safe... $HOOD

Generative operating system hell yea. Only markdown files are real everything else is hallucinated on the fly.
feels like a good time to seriously rethink how operating systems and user interfaces are designed (also the internet; there should be a protocol that is equally usable by people and agents)

This is why i'm big on tracking ACTIVITY CLUSTERS not Threat Actors. Threat Actors are humans. Unless you have HUMINT capabilities (Human Intelligence) you really shouldn't be talking about naming Threat Actors. Most CTI shops have SIGINT (Signals Intelligence). These signals being the observable techniques, logs, output of malware analysis, infrastructure tracking. You can surface ACTIVITY CLUSTERS and give them a number and move on and do a cyclical review to see if any of the clusters need to be merged or expanded. If the cluster grows to a size that is notable or is involved with an INTRUSION or CAMPAIGN that is worth discussing then this is where giving the cluster a public name is of value. To directly address the question by Raaz, the new skills and techniques observed would be a net new numbered ACTIVITY CLUSTER. The alternative is a world where we are creating what I have dubbed INTELLIGENCE DEBT where every observed signal (malware, technique, infrastructure) is constantly requiring an analyst or researcher to compare that singular object at that point in time against every named cluster to see if it 'fits'. The more that you do this the problem grows exponentially and it comes with the very real problem of infighting and conflict with other researchers who disagree with you (mainly because they have different visibility based on telemetry). A final point: I think the term APT has outlived its usefulness and has taken on many different meanings to many different peoples. I like to describe the likely motives of the HUMANS behind the activity clusters instead: Nation Enabled (either implicitly or explicitly tasked, or allowed to operate with impunity because their activities align with those that would benefit the state in question) OR Criminal (money motivated - eCrime). This model still has issues because of the moonlighting (threat actors involved in both monetarily motivate campaigns as well as being tasked by a state - we saw this evidence in the Conti leaks). eCrime is like pick-up basketball, actors are constantly working together and they learn things from each other (techniques start to blur). The same is true between Nation Enabled and eCrime. We saw this with DRPK using Click-Fix recently. Threat Actor naming mainly serves as a marketing vehicle these days amongst other things which i won't get into here. --I've been thinking about doing a talk on this topic-- but I would be remiss if i didn't mention that there are others in this industry who have a much better grasp of this subject than me like Joe Slowik.
I have a noob question for CTI peeps APT group is typically identified based on its known TTPs(infra as well), what happens when the original members leave and new operators with entirely different skills and techniques take over?

We have a strict zero-trust policy for local admin rights. A graphic designer requested elevation to install a custom font called "Bebas Neue". I replied with the standard Vendor Risk Assessment questionnaire. It's a 40-page Excel document. He asked if this was a joke. He just needs a font for a PDF. I told him all third-party code requires a security audit, a data privacy impact assessment, and VP approval. He said the font is open-source and free. I explained that "free" means we need legal to review the licensing agreement. He asked how long that takes. I said anywhere from four to six months. He sat in silence for a minute. He replied, "I'll just use Arial." I closed the ticket as "Alternative Solution Accepted." I love Arial.

If you're using Open Swarm (the AI agent orchestration platform): Stop. There's no auth on the local websocket API, so any website you visit can send messages to your AI agents as if it's you.
