A5 Give them something they can’t throw away: Sponsor the creation of something unique and usable. How bout a guide to printing for journalists? Or an inforgraphic with print/advertising/graphics stats for the previous year. Something they’ll always look at 👀 #printchat
Q5. How can you use print to assemble your credentials and present them attractively to media sources and referral partners? #printchat

I went to journalism school, that’s the route I took to marketing, so when I heard credentials I thought more “how to hold a digitally savvy journalist’s limited attention span long enough for them to see us as a component to a story” #printchat
A4 I can't say that I ever thought I needed more education or credentials in that way. It's always good to ask the media what they consider to be credentials for an expert and aim your samples in that direction. #printchat

A4 1) Professional website with access to lots of information they may want including a place for media inquiries 2) Engaging/active social media 3) Memberships with local/regional/national groups for your industry 4) Positive customer impressions and reviews online #printchat
Q4 what additional credentials would you need for yourself or your business to communicate your expert status? #printchat

This is true, can’t deny that. Plus the visuals/clippings are nice to have for content purposes. #printchat
A3b. Even if your market is not local, having local media quote you can be very impressive. You can leverage that connection to one that fits a scale you need. You must help them first though! #printchat

A3b I can’t say we do here. We’re National so any local coverage we’d seek wouldn’t be advantageous. Put we do maintain relationship with many of the packaging, pharmaceutical, corrugated, seafood, and meat trade magazines! #printchat
Q3b do you have relationships w/ a TV station, newspaper, biz magazine, radio station, business podcaster, event venues? Why or why not? #printchat

A3 Video! Nothing beats having a commanding and informative YouTube channel that people turn to for information/help. Nothing can give you more cred than that. #printchat
Q3 which types of media could you use in addition to print to communicate your expert status? #printchat

When I worked for a local premium landscaping company this was the exact route I took and it resulted in over 800 new Instagram followers and 5 projects valued over $100,000 #printchat
A2 pick experts in complementary fields who may be the expert of choice for the media you are trying to reach. Look for someone who is quoted often in the media. #printchat

Forget the media, they’ll come to you, but if you do it right these other businesses will be mentioning your name first to their customers. 💰
A2 pick experts in complementary fields who may be the expert of choice for the media you are trying to reach. Look for someone who is quoted often in the media. #printchat
A2 1) Look professional/cutting edge. 2) Speak with authority and use data. 3) Have an arsenal of print collateral in a variety of forms that demonstrate 1+2. 4) Make sure it’s delivered/seen by the right people (think about who the media routinely turns to) #printchat
Q2 how can you use print to elevate yourself to expert status among your referral sources and other experts? #printchat

Oh see I didn’t even think of that! So simple and obvious 🤦🏻‍♂️ lol I was overthinking it! #printchat
A1: it all starts with a business card. #printchat

A1 Ooof that’s a hard first question! Not an application I’ve considered for print honestly. Definitely looking to y’all for insights here. #printchat
