I get asked this all the time and the answer isn't ideological it's pragmatism and governing mechanics. I have no problem with the Reform UK agenda in principle, I agree with most it, for me the issue is they might win and they are not ready to implement a single policy in the vision. In 2024 a Government came to power that had no plan, no clue and no experience and the downward spiral was sharp. Note, this is a government that the Blob doesn't hate. Reform UK are starting from a standing start in a hostile environment. It must do better Now imagine of Farage get's a majority, he's going to have the worst economic, social and structural issues we have faced as a nation since 1943. The nation needs not reforming but rebuilding and he's going to have pocket money to do it. He also has to deal with a hostile press, a potential general strike and every lawsuit you can think of and that's just day one. That's the challenge ahead, I say this all the time. The "policies" crumble on contact with reality and a calculator. As a nation we cannot afford a failure. Reform UK must be ready day one with plans, contingencies and strategy to deal with not just fixing the country but the people trying to stop him. Nothing that can be planned for should be missed. I do not 'knock' Reform UK, I audit it. It needs to be gameday ready and it's still fumbling the ball like a sunday league outfit. We moan about student union politics in Labour but the divas in Reform UK should be on a Real Housewives show. We do not have time for this nonsense. We do not have time for Reform UK to be losing on average 3 councillors a day because it can't find people that know how to behave so the party can win. And that's the begining problem, you also have the fact that Reform UK is not winning. It's not had a majority in the commons polling since January. We cannot afford Labour and the rainbow lanyard types to take control. we get one shot and we've got the B team to save us. Not good enough People can chose to see my comments as attacks or the more practical way is you can view them as a friend who has seen collapse on the inside, whose been around the block and is warning of beartraps. The Conservatives failure is not a get out of jail free card, it doesn't mean Reform UK can excuse it's failures. We need better than uniparty so just highlighting they are no better is a pointless excercise. Reform UK and it's supporters need to understand the Tories are a cautionary tale. A canary in the coal mine, a warning as to what happens when standards slip, policy is rushed, internal battles dominate and they don't have plans and vision. Starmer never understood that Change is not the destiniation it how you get to wherever you want go. Reform UK could be the next Government, a party with limited institutional memory and even less executive and governing experience and we can't have amateur mistakes. This is not "give it your best shot" this is the nation collapsing. This next general election will define the nation for decades to come. Reform UK need to step it up or step out of the way. This pathetic squabble with the press, running to the police over a T-shirt, a press conference everytime Nigel has a bowel movement or Zia needs an ego trip is useless, especially when the policy is half-baked and still being written and the would be minister is reading it out. It's not good enough. I do not understand why people think as long as Labour is out then things will get better. I am not a party political person, I am not a Tory, I am not Restore and I am not Reform UK. I am your No Man. Reform UK thinks the sunshine's out it backside far too often and the truth is it is losing, badly, a snap election will cripple the Right, we all know it. If Reform UK supporters want to be patriots, want to help their party, serve and enlist then stop excusing and start enforcing the standards you want other parties to hit. People can call me all sorts of names, not bothered been called worse by a lot better but if somebody happens to see a problem I raise and fixes something then that's worth it. Reform UK is not a victim, it is asking to be trusted by a scared and hurting people in a moment where trust doesn't exist. That task is monumental but it must be achieved. That's why I go hard.

Peter you are aware I respect you a great deal but why oh why did you knock Reform at every opportunity ? I know you used to advise the Conservatives have you resumed that role or hope to resume that role ? I’m a third generation conservative I did not leave them they left me ! I believe that Farage is the only hope for the UK at the next GE as the Conservative Party is still full of nicker wetting liberals disguised as conservatives and although Kemi seems to be doing and saying some right things she is IMO the right person at the wrong time with the wrong people behind her

These are big boys with thick skin. Let’s not pearl clutch and tone police. We aren’t lefties. I saw this and knew it would blow up. For what it’s worth in my opinion both men are correct. We have to quit this false dichotomy prison we locked ourselves in Britain, must do more for its people, it must not just promise but deliver for the young and old. However Britain sacrifices for what is right. In our national psyche we know when something is unfair, we always back the underdog. These are not mutually exclusive ideas or values. We used to be able to walk and chew gum. That’s what we must take from this debate.
A heated GB News debate between Peter Bleksley and @Alexarmstrong asked whether young people should go to war for Britain when the government has done nothing for them. I stand with Alex on this one. Why should anyone be expected to fight for a country that has failed them?.

Being a tad economical with the chronology here mate Immigration was not the reason for the interpretation - myth suggests there’s no evidence. That’s not true. Early 2025 @reformparty_uk shifted in rhetoric, direction and appeal. Before we stat it’s best to not forget Farage publicly distanced himself from the Contract with the People around May and tore it up by November that year You had the start of purging of elements of the party, so ideological ruptures were widening. Don’t forget just before you had Nigel Farage famously declaring that mass deportations were a "literal impossibility" and a "political impossibility" and Richard Tice’s “that lot” comment. On top of that, Reform in March 2025 distanced itself from the AfD and the National Front. Then came the Lowe departure and opposition to mass deportations line and don’t forget Elon Musk’s comments about a Farage not being up for it. Also early 2025 saw a startling u-turn on Shamima Begum returning to the UK. The biggest shift was in economics. Reform abandoned Thatcherite economics for economic populism, focusing on public services, pouring billions into the NHS, nationalisation, state-supported job protection. Limited foreign-ownership and high state intervention proposals The one that blew rightwing credibility out the water was in May when Farage backed scrapping the two-child benefit cap. It was only in August they added the British bit for damage control. Call it going to the Left, softening position, moving centre whatever, in 2025 #ReformUK moves positions that can be read in a certain angle

At no point did we Reform against anything in the 2024 manifesto on migration. The entire online right thought this was just gravy and happily voted for it btw.

Jesus wept, again no argument, not surprised, Still wondering how your predictions skills have been Adam you clearly know the working class vote, not deflecting are you? And for the record I’ve said repeatedly: - Kemi’s speech was weak - I don’t think she’s ready to be PM - Tory conference was bland. - They have billion pound black holes in their policies and are inconsistent - they are not prepared for government in the slightest - they have not atoned for or recognised the true extent of the damage they did on so many fronts - they have not cleaned out CCHQ - the frontbench is weak
So you’re not pushing for the Tories or going to vote for them ?… lol ok Pete

,@EssexPR Adam mate, read that again and think. 🤦🏼‍♂️ How can it be a deflection and be my result when I left the Tories 2 years before it happened? I know Reformers like to demand accountability from everyone but themselves but I can’t deflect from something that’s not mine. xitter.cf/essexpr/status/2114359…

Oh good lord, you can’t be serious. Thats the line you’re going with? Tell me Robert Kenyon, he was a certainty right? Matt Goodwin, another one of your predictions about the working class vote in the Red Wall, how did that one work out? I am 7 for 7 on byelections, how about you? Oh and I left the Conservatives before Robert Jenrick did 🤣 good to get the facts right bud
Peter, I’d have thought you’d stay quiet about Makerfield considering The Tories got less than a 1000 votes ( 2.2% vote share )… You came 4th…

“Our sources” 🙄 Closest thing you’ve got to a source is ketchup. I think you meant to say “things I read from people I agree with on X and facebook groups”
Are you advocating for Ethno nationalism? We know from our sources that Restore are a failed project from the Tories. As soon as they went rogue the Tories stepped back. This monster is a product of the conservatives. You reap what you sow.

Why would a single @RestoreBritain supporter do something Reform UK voters didn’t? June, this exact argument was made by @Conservatives about @reformparty_uk and you all ignored it and we got Starmer It would be a much better use of #ReformUK people’s time to start asking how and why Restore causing you such trouble. More importantly why are they growing in areas you need to win, talking about the issue you apparently own? In 2016, Remain lost because it presumed to know what voters think instead of listening to them. Then instead of convincing them Remain were the better option they tried to scare them with #ProjectFear Reform UK are sounding the exact same. Lazy, entitled and walking into the same trap.
Replying to @TheNorfolkLion
He still cannot win it's the system not the individual. Why can't people just spend twenty minutes to work out why in the next election Restore votes help Labour and Tories, why do you think Kemi never criticises him, despite his social media manager putting out way more hard core stuff than Nigel

This is moment of maximum danger for Reform. You can broadly split current Reform voters into 2 groups - true believers & 'just want a right wing govt'. The second are much more transactional & if the Tories start to look like the vehicle to defeat Labour they'll go back to them

Agree with every word here. Hope Nigel has read it and passes it to every other Party mandarin to read too. Give Peter a paid job, well worth the money. For the avoidance of doubt, i am a Reform Party member having left the Tory's after too many years to mention and want it to succeed.
