Just created a PartKeepr VM based on Debian 9 "Stretch". Turned out it was a bit tricky to set up so I've made it available on the website: pcburn.com/partkeepr-vm-on-d… PartKeepr, in case you're unfamiliar, is a part tracking software with a web interface.
The video on filament breaking brought up some questions as to why. So I've created a follow up to explain mechanical stress (in the context of a PLA filament for #3Dprinting) and test if leaving it in PTFE tubing or sitting out effects it. youtu.be/FDijOpKtXQs
youtu.be/oE-xQJxsj3c Opened up a #McDonalds #Sega handheld LCD game from 2004 for a battery repair. Bit of a trip down memory lane looking at an LCD game after all these years. #RETROGAMING at it's finest. Well. Short of Coleco LED games :).
Ever wanted to put together your own Lithium Ion battery charger? Here's a walk-through of a reference circuit I implemented for my own battery. With a minimum of four necessary parts! youtu.be/RKlAD0IcoZs
Just posted a video on some freestanding glowing LED filament ala the Edison lamps. It's a simple and striking effect in a low-power 2.7v part. youtu.be/VjwDmxmrc3M
Re-working a design for laser cut wall-board to make cheap and durable storage drawer containers. The wall-board material is cheaper and laser cuts a bit easier than splintery 7mm-ish plywood.
Just finished tweaking a #electronics solder station case for the DIY #T12 cartridge kit. Sometimes listed as "Quicko" and often referred to as "Fake-o" since folks somehow confuse it with real Hakko products. Although I honestly can't figure that one out. github.com/Inhibit/3D_Design…
... from the school of thought that if you just pack it in enough staticy packaging you'll pass the threshold and make it #ESD proof.
An old Intellivision mainboard (INTV 1988) model from either a late System Pro or Tutorvision. It has an EPROM instead of the usual GROM CMOS chip onboard which makes it different from any of the others I've seen. If I can find a STIC 1A I'll fire it up. pcburn.com/intellivision-int…

It even smells like an old radio shack (the building with radios; not the shop with telephones). This is a #vintage #electronic CRT tube tester and restorer for, appropriately enough, #restoration. It's even got the original registration pamphlet! And the collars for the tubes.
Just found an original #Sphero (bluetooth rolling gadget) in a pile of electronic brick-a-brack. It's a little rattly and I don't immediately see software to control it. It might end up getting sacrificed on the #electronics #teardown bench for repair.
Installing #Linux in places it wasn't intended to go, this time a HP 1000 G2 #ElitePad. This install used Linuxium's #Atom #Ubuntu 20.04 respin and ended up working out better than expected. youtu.be/pYCTwCxWqYs
Tidying up the workbench with a little #DIY #3Dprinting. I've made an 120mm or 180mm #SMD component tape reel to complement the excellent SMD spool holder on Thingiverse. And cleaned the #electronics components off my bench! youtu.be/zfcob1h220s
Another week, electronic device taken down to the brass tacks. This time it's a Ryobi 18v #P737 air pump and tire inflator that wasn't working. Can I perform the #repair? youtu.be/MY_VDyjl8Q8 #teardown #powertools

Just had another #retrogaming #teardown, this time of the #NES famiclone Retro Bit Retro Entertainment System. It's an NES on a Chip SOC design with a neat case and suspect build quality! pcburn.com/inside-a-nes-clon… youtu.be/o42ZQz7IpUI
Added a page of #3DResins and their settings for the Phrozen Sonic Mini. pcburn.com/phrozen-sonic-min…
Just wrapped up a first look #review of Phrozen's Sonic Mini #resin #3Dprinter. It's interesting at the $250 price point and the monochrome #DLP filter made using it in a cool workshop tricky. Next add-on build is a heating chamber. Made of cardboard! youtu.be/-6TG0UQE05k
Wondering why your PLA #3Dprinter #filament keeps breaking? It's been happening here for a while; I've taken a look at what's been causing my filament to snap and ruin prints. youtu.be/SvpSxHLotMI
