I read 50-60 books a year. Nonfiction, fiction. Hardcopy, Kindle or audio. There's still some 2026 left, but I gotta say. 2 of this year's best novels are indie. Theft Of Fire by @Devon_Eriksen_ And After Moses by @MichaelFKane Trad isn't king. Not anymore. Viva indie.

I thought Kid Rock was the worst thing to happen to Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London"... Then I discovered the Kidz Bop version.

You guys should read this book. While the topic sounds sensational, Ungit approaches it with discernment and skill.
There is a dark history of psychedelics being mixed with religion. In the "Return of the Dragon," I explore this history and come to a shocking conclusion. Pick up a free eBook copy this Friday (Oct 23) and Saturday (Oct 24).

This device changed its pronouns from ON/OFF to WAS/WERE. Soon afterwards, the device reached end of life. Ain't that just the way it goes.

The greatest proof of the existence of the time travel is how the dialog in M. Night Shymalan's 2002 film "Signs" is obviously generated by AI.

The World and Everything in it Podcast talking about Violent J and Jugglo Gatherings wasn't on my bingo card for today.

Gonna catch some flak, but Lonesome Dove is not the best western. The Best Western is an affordable hotel, conveniently located 2 minutes form the airport.

An example of "Northness" "Then something...woke up inside him, and he wished to go and see the great mountains, and hear the pine-trees and the waterfalls, and explore the caves, and wear a sword instead of a walking-stick."-The Hobbit, Jrr Tolkien.

Anyone else take pleasure in discovering increasingly narrow industry magazines or catalogs?

Was having trouble copying my phone's micro SD card to the PC. Apparently it's because my card reader is 22 years old.

I feel like the knit hat violates some core component of the Mr. Clean brand.

One of the best things about being a writer is the really cool ways you find to distract yourself instead of writing. Like last night? I drew this sick dinosaur instead of working on my story.

Just saw a post on Reddit asking if the Bible was appropriate for children. In a Christian subreddit. Why do we feel like we need to be holier than God's word?

In praise of Sunday afternoons. My wife is still at work, the girls down for naps or quiet time. I pile a stack of books beside the sofa. Books I mean to read. Gene Wolfe. Wendell Berry. Flannery O'Connor. That they be good is essential. I can't nap without them.
