Just finished the latest Co-Production Board for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, which I Co-Chair with Wil, my colleague from People First Merseyside. A really positive meeting, the first in person for quite a long time, with other colleagues joining via Zoom.

In the most poignant moment of the evening, a user of @PFMerseyside shared why cutting services in communities matters. “If I didn’t have the organisation and the advocacy I have now, I wouldn’t be alive.” Charities not only enhance lives, they save lives.

Asha, who has borderline personality disorder, was treated cruelly by her friends and teachers at school. Together we need to combat the shame and isolation still felt by young people who experience a mental health problem.
