Jevons paradox is about to make a major comeback in US manufacturing.

I built a fun thing for the reindustrialization and critical industry nerds like myself. Vote on the announcements you think are badass, and feel free to submit a tip on a launch to be considered for the next week. Link in my profile. It's vibe coded. It's not perfect. It will improve. Hit me up if you have suggestions.

All the interweb engineers emerging from the woodwork today to try to downplay or disprove the Roadster demo. Little do they know they're only helping the cause. TSLA + SPCX FTW

Who's investing in manufacturing outside of CA and TX right now?

I want to connect with more people working on manufacturing in the US. Not just working on software for manufacturing, but actual manufacturing. Who is planning, building and/or running a facility? Who has aspirations to do so?

A look back at a job that took some real creativity. Took a 40 to crane, plus two big boy fork trucks to take it off the truck and move into place. Ground the hard facing down and re-clad (welded hard facing on) it. This is what a real job shop looks like.

So far, Dot is very much NOT proactive.

This right here is a great way to repel customers. You would do better to just not post anything.
When early-stage bearing wear is caught and scheduled in advance, the repair becomes a planned job done on someone's own schedule rather than an overtime callout, a rushed spare part, and a supervisor pulled off the floor. Partner content with @AI4ProdOutcomes. #infinite_ai

All I want for Christmas is enough followers to be able to do customer discovery by just posting.

I'm sure software folks felt this way a year ago, but damn it's funny watching watching non-mechanical people trying to figure out mechanical things. I'm following a thread where these guys just discovered how to get semi reliable automation by *not* using AI, and making these crazy things called fixtures and jigs to properly locate parts. This has only been a thing for 60+ years, y'all. I mean, more power to ya, but c'mon.

I look forward to having 5 different AI assistants and not being able to remember which did what. Actually, that setup might closely imitate my own brain.

Hardware/robotics people (or anyone else rapidly iterating on parts that have to be machined): What kind of lead times are you seeing?
