A newly married couple was killed after a car collided with their motorcycle near Chinnasandra on the Chintamani road in Chikkaballapur district on Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as Shanmukh (25), a resident of Chintamani, and his wife, Mithuna (22). The couple had married just a few months ago.
According to reports, the collision was severe, throwing the couple off their motorcycle and into a nearby canal. Both died in the accident.
Two occupants of the car, reportedly natives of Bihar, sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Personnel from Chintamani Rural Police Station visited the accident site, conducted an inspection and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
Further investigation is underway.
