I was just thinking — we had an entire TV show (Cheers) in the US dedicated to alcoholics doing nothing but drinking , complaining about their lives and telling jokes about liver disease. All while sitting on their asses, accomplishing nothing. But weed makes you lazy?

If you’re shocked about people still getting arrested for some weed, wait till you hear about Texas!
#Colts QB Anthony Richardson Sr. has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, per @FOX59. Richardson was pulled over on Oct. 12 for an expired registration. He told police he had smoked marijuana in the vehicle and had a small amount inside, according to court documents. Police found a jar containing marijuana and an opened bag of THC-infused gummies. The charge was filed Monday.

The cannabis is evil/makes you dumb crowd in shambles after reading this.
Data on 35,000+ adults: the more cannabis you’ve used in life, the bigger your hippocampus and the better your brain works after 40! People who had ever used cannabis tended to have larger brain volume in key areas that are full of natural cannabis-like receptors (especially the hippocampus, amygdala, caudate, and putamen – these areas are important for memory, emotions, learning, and movement). The more cannabis someone had used in their lifetime, the larger these brain areas were and the better they performed on tests of learning, processing speed, and short-term memory. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4137…

I don’t get it. Canada: 8 years of cannabis legalisation. USA: We need more tests. $MSOS
🌱 HAPPY LEGALIZATION DAY 🌱 It’s now been EIGHT years since federal legalization; a plant has not collapsed society, reefer madness never took hold, police focus on more important things, and we let adults choose how to live their lives.

The New York Times asserts 9% of men have cannabis use disorder, a stat amplified by prohibitionist groups. But let's unpack what that actually means: A new study found that among daily users, over 30% didn't meet the criteria for CUD at all. 45% met "mild" criteria, which is 2/11 criteria on a diagnostic test. Only 3% suffered severe CUD, which is what "addiction" typically refers too.
The idea that pot isn't addictive is well and truly dead. 9 percent of men and 6 percent of women have a cannabis use disorder, per new analysis of NSDUH. Nora Volkow to the New York Times: "the notion that cannabis is not addictive may basically be incorrect." nytimes.com/2026/08/19/well/…

The phrase "cannabis vs. hemp" is as stupid as saying "dogs vs. golden retrievers." If you want to accurately talk about the legally distinct cultivars of the cannabis plant in a way that actually makes sense, you're going to need to say the word "marijuana." Cannabis sativa L. is a species that contains both hemp and marijuana.

Trump's Schedule III marijuana "reform" is a total joke, empty promises that leave cannabis federally illegal and medical growers drowning in 280E taxes. It's fake progress designed for headlines, not actual freedom for patients or operators. Pure Washington bullshit.

Unpopular opinion; No one - literally not a soul - actually enjoys the taste of beer. Not a single human. Those who claim to enjoy beer, don’t actually. It’s really just a social ritual, a form of self deception… the impact of decades of stacked marketing to convince you that beer is anything but an alcohol delivery mechanism. You can enjoy getting sloshed. You can enjoy the social liberation that alcohol offers. You can enjoy the party. But don’t act like you actually like the taste of beer. You don’t. You might think you do. But you don’t. Because it tastes like it looks: bitter dehydrated piss, with bubbles. In the case of Guinness, like diarrhea, with bubbles. And you know it.
Mark Zuckerberg pretending to enjoy Guinness is my new favourite thing.

Prohibitionists responding to the DEA's finding of no reported fatal marijuana overdoses with "nobody overdoses on cigarettes either" is intellectually embarrassing. Cigarettes kill ~480K Americans per year through chronic exposure. Cannabis has no comparable mortality profile. Nobody is arguing cannabis is risk-free. But conflating acute toxicity with chronic disease to defend prohibition isn't science. It's advocacy masquerading as science. marijuanamoment.net/there-ar…

I'm blocked by both SAM and Kevin himself, but here's what I would say if I could respond to the personal insults their team continues to levy at me. Media coverage is supposed to be rigorous, exhaustive, and scrutinizing. Especially when organizations pour millions of out-of-state money, without disclosing donors, into campaigns that deliberately mislead voters and attempt to overturn the will of the people. Also, nowhere in Kevin's tweet did he say that — and it's a core component of the study, right in the abstract. If Kevin would like to talk about education, why don't we discuss how his Phd in qualitative social policy has next to nothing to do with interpreting statistical evidence in these papers. Maybe that's why they get things so wrong?
