Did you know that Poland was one of the founding members of the UN, even though it did not take part in the conference in San Francisco?
On 24 October 1945, the Charter of the United Nations came into force. This marked the beginning of the organisation’s history, which Poland continues to help shape to this day.

MFA statement on terrorist attack in Jordan.
Poland strongly condemns the terrorist attack on a church in Jordan's Karak province on 23 October. The perpetrators must face the consequences.
We express our condolences to the families of the victims. We stand united with Jordan’s authorities and the Christian community of the Karak province. We extend our sympathies to the Polish–Jordanian family which also suffered during the attack.
Jordan is an important partner for Poland, with whom we have been engaged for many years in combating terrorism and extremism. We appreciate Jordan’s special role in interreligious dialogue, as the guardian of Christian and Muslim sacred sites.

At dawn on 1 September 1939, Nazi Germany invaded Poland, marking the beginning of the largest armed conflict in human history.
Eighty-seven years later, we remember all those who gave their lives in defence of their homeland and fought against the invader for their own freedom and that of future generations.
We remember the victims of the Second World War.
We remember, so that history may never repeat itself.

35 years ago, Poland, Germany and France embarked on a unique form of cooperation, founded on dialogue, mutual respect and a shared responsibility for Europe’s future.
In 1991, Foreign Ministers Krzysztof Skubiszewski, Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Roland Dumas wrote of a “unique opportunity to build a new Europe” based on shared values, democracy, prosperity and security.
Today, these words remain just as relevant.
The Weimar Triangle remains an important forum for cooperation – from security and defence, and support for Ukraine and Moldova, to countering disinformation, economic security, AI and technological sovereignty, as well as people-to-people cooperation.
Together, we are stronger in building a safe, resilient and strong Europe.
