Athletes: What can you control in the coming weeks?
- Sleep
- Hydration
- Visualizing your races
- Getting to the right level of excitement on race day
What can't you control? The weather.
Put your energy into the first list.
Heading to Nike XC Town Twilight meet in Terre Haute in the morning! Very excited to be part of the Race of Champions for both our guys and girls!

Richard Spring Invitational on Sat... NO TENTS near the SE corner of the course (behind starting line turns left to head down the hill along Galena Rd). This is reserved for Ambulance/EMT access to the course. Otherwise, keep a respectful distance from the actual course route.
Irish Girls, with a strong pack after 4th place Lillian Chaddock, earn 2nd place in 2A, while the shorthanded boys earned 4th as a few guys have been battling illness and such.
Proud of the efforts, and look forward to this coming week!

Less than two weeks until @RichardSpringCC! Hopefully the course is still in OK shape after FTTF this weekend!

Ike Brannon was a teammate of Richard "Rich" Spring...
In 1981, Rich Spring finished 3rd at IHSA State Meet. He helped Peoria Bergan win back-to-back Team Titles in 1980 & 1981. He died unexpectedly of cardiac issue while a collegiate athlete. The meet is held in his memory.
Nice opening meet for the Irish at Galesburg Silver Streak Invite... After a week of early morning runs, etc, we raced well in training shoes, warm conditions (even with the early start time). Nice job! 3 trophies and lots of medals! Max Kirby for the win. Next week full Varsity!

(It's Central Illinois September weather, so of course it will be great for distance running!)

For all the competitive runners out there... Is it obvious to everyone that superstitions are just stitions with carbon fiber plates?
So if you were ever confused by what's in a gallon of milk... There's Milk, as identified on the label...
Also, the Ingredients list Milk as the main ingredient in milk. If that wasn't enough... the label adds that it contains Milk.
Oh, and it includes Vitamin D - mentioned 4x.

Success is built off of a series of very simple things, intentionally done with focus and consistency.
(Should be on the back of every team's Cross Country team shirt this season.)

This was less than one year ago.
After 29 years, Michael Granville's 1:46.45 high school record in the 800 meters has been broken.
Texas's Cooper Lutkenhaus -- just a sophomore -- runs 1:46.16 to break it at the Brooks PR Invite in Seattle. Owen Powell runs 1:46.63 for 2nd (#6 all-time).
