The thief on the cross had nothing to offer Jesus… no baptism, no church membership, no good works, no religious résumé. He couldn’t come down from that cross and prove himself worthy. He simply recognized who Jesus was, acknowledged his own guilt, and trusted Him… “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” Jesus didn’t hand him a checklist, He simply said, “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” We can make faith so complicated with doctrines, denominations, traditions and systems of men, yet that dying thief reminds us how beautifully simple the Gospel really is… Christ was enough.
