LIVE was proud to give evidence in Parliament today on the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill. An important bill that, if introduced correctly, can reinforce the great work done on security by venues and festivals across the country.

SCAM ALERT: We are aware of scammers sending BEIS headed letters to businesses telling them that, by law, they need to purchase air purifiers to comply with #COVID19 rules.
This is not true.
If you receive a letter, please report it to @actionfrauduk orlo.uk/LuW2e

Think about the last time you went to a gig😢
It takes lots of people to make that happen
These people & the live industry need support
The Government temporarily cut VAT on tickets to 5%
That's due to end 31/3/21
It needs to stay at 5% so live music can recover

This has been a difficult year for the live music industry. An extension of the reduced VAT rate will save £300m+.
We need your help to make sure the Government hears how vital this is - get involved at livemusic.biz/campaigns

@RishiSunak cutting the VAT to 5% during lockdown was a genius idea that could have saved many grass roots venues IF WE HAD BEEN OPEN TO SELL TICKETS! This is vital for our survival as we exit lockdown and navigate recovery. Please #KeepVATat5 – at Norwich, England

The industry is on its knees, no-one has been to a gig in 11 months, we need it to stay at 5% to help live music stand a chance of recovering.

Today the #liveevents industry is campaigning to keep VAT at 5% for the next three years - if it reverts to 20% at the end of March it will have catastrophic consequences for the industry at this critical time - so please share #KeepVATat5 @KempProfessor

The music industry still needs help.
So, with the budget approaching, we are asking the government to continue the relief on the VAT on ticket prices.
Once gigs are back on the agenda, this will allow our industry and our community to bounce back.

@RishiSunak you gave us a VAT cut that we haven't been able to access due to forced closure. We are calling on you to do the sensible thing now and extend this cut to take the 1st step in saving the sector long term. @musicvenuetrust @ChrisM4Chester #keepvatat5 #saveourvenues

Don't take away that offer of support. Let the industry use it the way you always planned it would, to support our recovery and to invest back into the people and businesses who have lost so much in this crisis. #KeepVATat5

You, as Chancellor, designed a sensible package of support that would have real impact. You budgeted for how much it would cost, and planned for it to be delivered. It couldn't then be delivered. #KeepVATat5

You can help by writing to you local MP this week urging them to #KeepVATat5. Download the template letter from @LiveMusic_UK here- livemusic.biz/campaigns/ @RishiSunak @hmtreasury @DCMS @CommonsDCMS

The live events industry is on its arse. No-one's been to a proper gig for 11 months.
The Government temporarily cut VAT on tickets to 5% to help - but that support is due to end 31/3/21.

Since announcing that year long VAT break, hardly a single ticket has been sold. The financial support offered hasn't yet been used, and it is still badly needed for our industry to recover. #KeepVATat5
