Trabzonspor played most of the top 6 and most of the bottom 6, now it will mostly face mid-table 6 teams (and Fenerbahce) in the remaining of the first half of the season.
Is that good or bad?
Given how Trabzonspor play I’d say this is the perfect mix of teams as they do not park the bus and have the ambition to attack (with the exception of the more prudent Erzurum and Alanyaspor).
It’s not only about winning the CL, but style of play and team identity matter too. The claustrophobic and anti-football way Arsenal played with vs PSG in the CL Finals (25% possession and 1 shot on target) diminish your team’s chances of gaining credibility.

PL 26/27: I looked at the teams Liverpool played (1 team bottom 5) compared to City (4 teams bottom 5), Arsenal (3 teams bottom 5) and Chelsea (0 teams bottom 5).
Too early with only 8 games played, but City had the easier start, Chelsea tougher, Arsenal easier journey ahead in the first half of the season and Liverpool the most balanced.
In 2026:
▫️Voted Bayern player of the year: Olise
▫️Voted Bundesliga player of the year: Olise
▫️Voted England player of the year: Bellingham
▫️Voted Champions League best player: Kvaratskhelia
▫️Voted World Cup best player: Rodri
▫️Ballon D’Or winner? Harry Kane.
The Ballon d’Or is a media award where the narrative to select the winner is decided by elite media and the voting is done by 100 media personalities carefully selected by the elite media.
In 2025 the media narrative was “you have to win the champions league” to win the Ballon d’Or. Salah and Raphinha had outstanding individual seasons, but when Liverpool and Barcelona exited the CL the media told us their chances were over. Salah came 4th and Raphinha 5th. The fact that Salah arguably had the best season in the PL history, broke many individual PL records in the best league in the world to help his club win its second league title in 35 years were all muted by the media.
In 2026 the media narrative shifted to “goals involvement is the key criterion” to win the Ballon d’Or. England, World Cup favorite, lost to Argentina with Kane having a horrible game and not even playing vs France in the 3rd position decider, Bayern a Champions League favorite exited, but the whole media narrative was about G/A. Some even mentioned Kane helping Bayern win the Bundesliga as if Bayern didn’t win 13 of the last 14 trophies.
This post is not anti-Kane as he deserves recognition for his outstanding career and amazing talent, but it is also important to recognize that the Ballon d’Or is a biased and manipulated award.
Liverpool vs Brighton:
- Brighton the closest in the PL to a Bundesliga team
- Araujo’s Liverpool contract a matter of time
- This is Alisson’s last season at Liverpool
- Gakpo today had a game out of 25/26 season
- We need an Araujo for the LB position
- Kerkez should be our new Kostas (backup & cup games)
- Ayari could’ve had a hat-trick
- Isak is playing recently like Liverpool’s Inzaghi!

Some articles feel like from a year ago. I did check the date to make sure it is new, but idiots with nothing to say and the right connections have to justify their wages so they share with us this diarrhea.
Dramas over Wirtz’s form, Isak’s temperament and Mac Allister’s "sadness" are distractions Andoni Iraola could do without as he seeks to mould an effective Liverpool team | ✍️ @allyrudd_times

You really get the impression that he’s one of those guys where his close friends also have WhatsApp groups without him in them.
🗣️ Mikel Arteta says he has been clipping up footage of other managers leaving the technical area during matches.
He says other coaches leaving the technical area 36 TIMES in 10 minutes without getting a yellow:
"I'm going to put sensors there [ on the touchline ]. There are managers that have the record in the league, 36 times in 10 minutes, leave the touchline, no yellows.
"So I'm clipping ALL of that. So I have a MASSIVE storage of images now.
"So if somebody comes to say, I'm not in the record yet. Somebody else has the record. So let's see."
On the hypocrisy of Carragher: Cole Palmer has been awful for 2 years with some random good games in between, but Carragher never criticized Palmer while targeting Florian Wirtz. Carragher even portrayed Palmer as a victim.
As Carragher is the closest thing in football punditry to a sleazy politician willing to say anything to stay relevant and be the center of attention, he’ll probably finally criticize Palmer to protect himself.
By the way, I have been critical of Wirtz, but this is about Carragher’s hypocrisy and favoritism.
The writing was on the wall once Real Madrid signed Mourinho.
Mourinho likes control, low risk, not losing possession and defensive solidity. He’s also a dinosaur media personality more than a creative coach at this stage of his career.
Trent on the other hand is high risk / high reward. By design he has high “possession lost” numbers due to all the long balls, switches and crosses. Also, we know he’s not the best defensively.
At Liverpool the team was built to platform him and Salah for years, but this is not the case at Madrid. Dumfries provide Mourinho with a compromise he likes.
Trent will either return to Liverpool (doubt it) or join a club like Chelsea.
🚨🚨 BREAKING: José Mourinho has decided to play Fede Valverde as a RIGHT WINGER tonight.
