Traditional Priestess Speaks About Same-Sex Relationships Within Indigenous Belief Systems, Challenging Claims That Homosexuality Is Un-African
Traditional priestess Quansah Loverth has spoken about the existence of same-sex relationships among traditional priests and priestesses within indigenous belief systems, challenging claims that homosexuality is foreign to African culture.
Speaking to FreedomToShootVid in a video shared on TikTok, Loverth explained that some priestesses have relationships with women rather than men, attributing this, in part, to the spiritual entities associated with their traditional practices.
“There are plenty priestesses that don't do men; they do women,” she said.
She further explained that spiritual experiences within traditional worship do not always align with the gender of the person serving as a priest or priestess.
“Because some of the gods, they don't like men. And some, you see, even the men that they are priests. Some of them, when they start chanting, the entity that will come maybe is a woman entity, and even some of the women's own are men. So it is like that,” Loverth stated.
Her remarks add to ongoing discussions about the diversity of sexuality, gender and spiritual expression within African indigenous traditions. They also raise questions about blanket assertions that same-sex relationships are incompatible with African cultural and religious heritage.

C.S. Lewis condemned homosexuality. “An Evening with C.S. Lewis” at the Eisemann Center.
Anti-Gay ideology reaches a community in different ways. It isn’t always snarling. If C.S. Lewis was an anti-Semite, would he be allowed at the Eisemann Center?

Decades ago, this wouldn't be a topic of discussion. However, with the DaVinci Code movie, what was once an obscure topic in ancient history, the Gnostic Gospels and the Nag Hammadi library became common knowledge.
Now there is a new source of conflict and splintering in Christianity. Yet, opponents of Christianity refuse to see an opportunity to bring down Christianity.
Even Bart Ehrman, author of "How Jesus Became God," says he changed his mind about how early some Christians called Jesus divine. Theologian Gavin Ortlund argues the earliest evidence goes further than Ehrman allows. churchleaders.com/christiani…
