I’m a SENIOR student-athlete who plays basketball at Columbia. If we have a season, I pledge to hold myself/team accountable to all covid safety protocols. I challenge athletes to share this message and a photo if you feel the same. #letusplay @NYGovCuomo @RobertZayasNY

College basketball is hard. It looks easy when you are a high school senior. Everyone is telling you how good you are and you are seduced by ratings which means nothing once you step on campus. My advice. Run your own race Be patient work hard and allow yourself to be coached – at Avon, CT

How many of today’s kids actually play pickup instead of just working with a trainer? By no means is this a knock on trainers, but playing against better competition actually helped get you better when I was coming up #justmyopinion
“My advice to Black girls everywhere: whenever you find yourself in a room where a lot of people don’t look like you — be it a classroom, or a boardroom, or a courtroom — remember that you have an entire community in that room with you, all of us cheering you on.” - Kamala Harris – at Latham, NY

I stand now as a light;

Bless all the coaches who hold kids accountable for grades, conduct & behavior. Never doubt that choosing discipline over a win is the right thing. It matters. That example says that regardless of how good a player is, he/she will be held to a higher standard. That’s powerful!
