🎯 What drives Path for Young?
Our program is built around 7 core objectives, each one shaping how we support young patients facing breast cancer, today and tomorrow:
1️⃣ Reducing chemotherapy without compromising outcomes
2️⃣ Empowering care with personalized digital health tools
3️⃣ Understanding patient needs and societal impact
4️⃣ Guiding policy with genomic testing and digital tools
5️⃣ Putting patients at the heart of cancer research
6️⃣ Building a secure and open digital platform for patients
7️⃣ Sharing knowledge and advancing global breast cancer care
Each of our partner centers contributes its expertise to bring these objectives to life, from clinical research to digital innovation to patient advocacy.
Together, we're working toward smarter, kinder, more personalized cancer care. 💙

🤝Patient co-creation and representation is at the heart of Path For Young.
From conception to the dissemination of results, the project works to involve patients at every stage - understanding their experience in a chemotherapy de-escalation trial, improving recruitment and implementation, and making sure their needs are truly integrated.
A dedicated working group, combining clinical, academic, industrial, and nonprofit expertise, ensures patients' voices are heard throughout.

🔬 Who is Who? - Meet the people behind Path For Young!
👩⚕️ Dr. Maria Alice Franzoi (@AliceFranzoi), medical oncologist and researcher, leads Work Package 4 of the Path For Young project. At the Cancer Survivorship Group at Gustave Roussy, she drives work on care pathways, digital health, including the co-design of patient-centred resources to facilitate care delivery.
Her goal: making OPTIMA Young a clinical trial truly built withand for patients.
🎗️ A toolkit of resources co-created with patients and healthcare providers will serve the clinical trial, aiming to tackle pre-identified implementation barriers, enable equitable participation, improve shared decision making and patient experience during the trial.

🤝Great to gather the #OPTIMAYOUNG team at the UCBG/FEMNET Scientific Day in Paris!
The scientific and sponsor teams are working hand in hand, fully mobilised to support the first French centres now open for inclusion. With around fifteen centres already recruiting across France, momentum is building! 💙
Thank you again Kenza Cheurfa, Aure Vanhecke, Fanny Ledu, Ines Vaz-Luis, Victorina Mananga, Maria Alice Franzoi and Mack Doël Gbaguidi

📷 A landmark moment for the #OPTIMAYOUNG trial: our first patient has been enrolled on June 26th at Clinique Pasteur in Brest, France! 📷
This is the result of months of hard work, dedication, and collaboration across the entire consortium. A huge thank you to the team at Clinique Pasteur and to all the recruiting centres working alongside us!
This milestone officially opens the inclusion period, which is expected to run until August 2028. Together, we are moving one step closer to answering a crucial question for premenopausal breast cancer patients: can we safely de-escalate chemotherapy without compromising outcomes? 📷

New results from #ASCO2026
OPTIMA reinforces the clinical value of Prosigna and the ≤60 threshold to identify patients unlikely to derive meaningful additional benefit from chemotherapy. Although encouraging, the premenopausal sample size in OPTIMA alone is not sufficient to provide a definitive answer: definitive confidence for premenopausal patients will require OPTIMA + premenopausal extension + OPTIMA-YOUNG data.
Congratulations to the OPTIMA team on this great achievement. We are grateful to continue this effort with you, and with all partners and investigators associated with our consortium.

Stay tuned for #ASCO2026! OPTIMA trial results — including first insights in premenopausal population — will be presented. These data will contribute to the PATH-FOR-YOUNG / OPTIMA-YOUNG joint analysis on genomic assay–guided chemotherapy de-escalation. #PathForYoung #OptimaYoung
Great news! 🎉 OPTIMA-Young is moving fast towards opening its first centers in France 🇫🇷
The first centers are expected to start enrolling patients in the coming months — an important step forward for the project and for young breast cancer patients. #PathForYoung #OptimaYoung
On May 12th, we celebrated #InternationalNursesDay and honor the dedication, compassion, and resilience of nurses worldwide. Thank you for the incredible impact you make every day in patient care, research, and saving lives. 💙 #NursesDay #PathForYoung
