Hi @RobertJenrick, how are you going to make up the ~£17bn revenue that policies 4, 6, 34 and 60 are going to lose the exchequer?
Your plan has zero proposals for how you will balance the books.
It’s a plan that will break Britain.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.

It should never be forgotten that Ken Paxton was a leader in the coup to nullify the election of Joe Biden. He filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court to challenge the 2020 election results in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin even though he was the AG for Texas. His suit was quickly tossed by the Court. On January 7th Paxton claimed the insurrection of the previous day was the work of antifa. This lie was quickly disproven.
On the 7th 46 state attorneys general disavowed the violence of the 6th in a letter to the Acting Attorney General of the U.S. A few days later three more AGs sent their own letter in condemning the violent insurrection. Only Ken Paxton failed to sign either letter.
Given the shocking allegations about her son, Andrew, should we view Queen Elizabeth's and the rest of the royal family's efforts to portray a dignified, honourable family in a new light?
Given the shocking allegations about her father, Thomas Markle, should we view the Duchess of Sussex’s efforts to portray a perfect family life in a new light? thetimes.com/life-style/cele…

Reform UK’s Joseph Boam claims he’s being censored.
The reality? Two standards hearings over a misleading video about a council officer and inaccurate claims about a bus route.
Even his own Reform UK Leicestershire council leader, Dan Harrison, urged @TiceRichard to expel him, revealing that 40 of 79 complaints against Reform UK councillors concerned Boam.
Scrutiny isn’t censorship.
Even @Joseph_Boam’s own party has had enough.

JUST IN: Serbia’s longtime leader Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat in Sunday’s parliamentary election, losing to a student-led opposition movement after two years of protests against his government.
The stunning result ends 14 years of dominance by Vucic and his right-wing party. Backed by Vladimir Putin, Vucic had accused the student movement of being a foreign-backed attempt to oust him.
The opposition is projected to win 135–140 of Parliament’s 250 seats, compared with about 105 for Vucic’s party.

Obama: "I spent 8 years cleaning up the mess Republicans left me, then handed it to Trump. 75 straight months of job growth. All he did was give tax cuts to people who don't need them, increasing the deficit, and now he wants to do it again."

Why are these self-proclaimed ‘patriots’ always so bloody angry?
They’ve got their flags, their country, their freedom of speech, and they’re still absolutely furious.
Has anyone ever seen one of them enjoying being British?

Lula won by nearly 4.4 million votes.
Mendoza offers no evidence that the extension altered the result.
The problem with Reform UK is they instantly call doubt on democratic processes when their person isn’t elected. That’s a genuine danger to democracy.
Bolsonaro’s own campaign also requested extended voting hours.
It’s very disappointing to see people who usually defend democracy somehow excuse the blatant irregularities in Brazil’s election as being acceptable to “stop authoritarianism”. Even if you agree that the polls should have been extended, the fact the order to do so was received so late meant that many municipalities had already closed their election stations and were forbidden from reopening them. It seems extremely suspicious in the least that the areas that hadn’t closed them were all seemingly Lula bastions.
An election lacks integrity if rules are inconsistently applied. Even Lula partisans should be able to understand that. Unless of course they are more interested in their favoured candidate winning rather than democracy itself.

Lula’s victory will be greeted with horror in Silicon Valley. Outside the EU, Brazil has been the biggest holders to account of US tech firms. And Facebook’s actions before the election deserve proper scrutiny
