Update: the new Persephone bookshop opens at 10am on Weds Nov 4 at 1 Scala Street, London W1, with the proviso that this is v much a 'soft' opening, a bit like a pop-up, so there may be a slight air of chaos. But we will certainly have all our 155 titles in stock - do come by.
We have some news. This autumn we are opening a second Persephone bookshop β in London, in Fitzrovia to be precise. We had not actually been planning this, but by chance we heard about a 1767 four-storey house that had become available... More info here: persephonebooks.co.uk/blogs/β¦

This was launched last night at @Dauntbooks in Marylebone. Couldn't move for dames and sirs who came to celebrate the great man. Michael Gambon: The Authorised Biography is published by @centurybooksuk on 29 October. I'm contractually mandated to encourage purchases...

Radio Times Editor Shem Law says BBC Radio 4 Extra is living proof that great broadcasting does not acquire a sell-by date β and we'll be losing more than just a radio station when it's turned off.

Itβs a day to celebrate Katy @ManningOfficial and the joy she brings to this world. Here are glimpses of her TV debut livening up a Softly Softly. Recorded at TV Centre TC3 on 18/12/1969. In that same studio one year later sheβd be playing Jo Grant in The Mind of Evil #DoctorWho

A bit late to this one but really enjoying it. Pierre, starring David Harewood on @Channel4 on Mondays and all on C4 streaming. Gripping, socially conscious and with excellent character dynamics.

And look out for "Man in Corridor" - Reg Cranfield, the first ever person to appear on screen in #DoctorWho
Rare screening tonight on BBC4 of Kevin Elyot's brilliant #MyNightWithReg - one of the key plays of the 1990s. Here's a little piece from a 1997 @RadioTimes and my recent RT write-up.
Please spare me the endless wibbles about new #Strictly hosts. I know several young people who used to question the skills of seasoned pro Bruce Forsyth, as he meandered through those long live evenings.
