One of the biggest reasons I distanced myself from NeverTrump is because so many people arrived at a place where people couldn't just be wrong about Trump, everyone but NeverTrump was deemed to be evil for not taking up the self proclaimed righteous mantle of NeverTrump. And that just didn't sit right with me. There are so many people who I continue to deem salt of the earth kind of people, some of the greatest people I'll ever be blessed to meet, who voted for Trump and continue to actively support him. I think their wrong and it saddens me that for whatever reason they've found themselves holding that political position. But it's a political position, it is not defining of their soul, it is not the final judgment of who they are as human beings. And at the end of the day, I would rather associate with salt of the earth people with whom I have a political disagreement with than those who gather to pat themselves on the back as the righteous ones who passed some test that everyone else failed that enables them to render final judgement on the wickedness of half the country.
