Hawthorne still has a lot of learning to do and experience needed under his belt before he’s comfortable, you could tell he was very nervous going to the line to potentially win the game (which who wouldn’t be) but that stuff will change once he gets his feet wet.
Very special talent and his defense on a few of Dior Johnson’s drives were huge down the stretch. Playing him on a guard going 1 on 1 looks like a potential strong suit. Love the fact Pope played him at the 2 spot some.
If he continues to progress the way he is and building his frame he has a chance to be really special.

You shouldn’t need to trap players that don’t wana be there just to succeed🤷♂️
Tennessee HC Josh Heupel spoke with media across the #SEC on Wednesday during the weekly SEC coaches teleconference. I asked him what has been the most difficult part of coaching this season. Heupel: "The hardest thing you encounter is the turnover on your roster, with the transfer portal and NIL, all of those things. I think that's the biggest thing that has changed in the sport. And I think in part because of that, you know, keeping your team together during the duration of the season, the focus of your team, week in, week out, and really as much as anything, day in, day out, to be your best by game day, is the biggest thing that, you know, you got to do a great job of.”
