We're delighted that Norfolk landowner Gavin Lane has become Vice President of the CLA. He will support the work of new @CLAtweets President Mark Tufnell and ensure the rural voice is heard on the important issues for our membership. Full details here: bit.ly/3kxo3GO

Here it is, the new bespoke mower in action. It uses 12 strimmers driven by hydraulic motors to mow strips of herbage ley to prevent crowding out the cereal. I think just 2 of these exist in the country. 1/

Harvest 21 finished, something new to us for this year. 🌞 flowers leaving a get understory of clover which will be grazed before direct drilling in the spring

In March, we established (using a strip till!) rows of grasses, clovers, and other legumes. Last week we stripped in between the herbage rows to plant wheat. This is our final step to eliminate the need for synthetic fertilisers. More later this week.

Beet have made it through the last 8 days of frost on the strip till, hopefully up and away could do with a warm rain now but still plenty of moisture in the strips 🌦🙏🏻
