Woah woah! As a @waitwait fan, *so* cool to see the ❤️ from @petersagal on the “Frankenstein” show I designed and played percussion for! – at Springfield, IL

And taking it as a good omen that
@waitwait are in the Studebaker today... while that stage is filled with our equipment set up last night for a run this weekend of the same project that @petersagal shared these kind words about!
😆 This sounds like some wonderful nonsense @mattmarks would’ve cooked up for @AlarmWillSound to burn through live in an acoustic electronica set…
Remnants of an amazing @NathalieJoachim+ @SpektralQuartet performance backstage at the @NationalGallery !
For NYC folks: Want to perform with me and @elliotcole next month 6/21? 🌼🌺🌻

Another wild turn in NYC… a day’s notice to conduct rehearsals of Andrew Hamilton’s “Music for People Who Like Art”, a mixed-meter roller coaster in Manhattan’s LARGEST practice room 😅
Alan’s back at the podium for the @AlarmWillSound performance this weekend at @LAPhil!
1/3 Gulp, first-ever name mention in the New York Times (!) …

2/3 Since Alan wasn’t unable to join, I stepped in to lead
@AlarmWillSound in Alan’s conception/design and my staging of Ten Thousand Birds, written for AWS by John Luther Adams.
3/3 It was a blast spending the week directing all that bird song in the ENORMOUS
@ParkAveArmory with all these wonderful and talented folks.
Appreciate this beautiful written account by
@joshbarone, and looking forward to enjoying the Armory album recording to come!
(Short) Thread:
1/ For two years now, I’ve been looking forward to this gigantic weekend for Chicago composers and performers, manifested with the love and labor of @EarTaxiFestival 's phenomenal leadership and team. Sadly, I’m stuck sick in bed not hearing these concerts...
2/ ... in-person and not getting to celebrate @marcmellits with a planned program of his music.
Today, I encourage friends in our community to both:
Watch the _incredible_ performances (and talk by George Lewis)...
3/ .. on today’s livestream. youtube.com/watch?v=Gh5iAIyq…
AND take a moment as I so often do to appreciate the warmth, creativity, supportiveness, and beautiful music we have from Marc Mellits.
Sending love to friends and artists celebrating today <3

Hmmmm-looking around…I honestly feel if you ran an *arts organization* and you didn’t *make anything last year* or *hire artists* during the pandemic…you should resign. There’s a whole host of people I’ve met recently with newer (read: better) ideas about leadership waiting…
Looking forward to the leap from designing this staging in an empty room on my laptop to... out in the world, IN A FIELD full of amazing musicians in person!

Yes, this! Had a chuckle when @davidlangmusic once told me and a handful of students up in New Hampshire that the best orchestration book for composers is the “phone book” of contacts on your cell. (Though I’m *sure* he said it more elegantly.) – at Chicago, IL
In this case, I'd like to join through a *different* account, but can't figure out how to. I even deleted and reinstalled the app, but it still remembered and automatically used my earlier Zoom account login.
John Cage knowledgeable folks: Will the final action of the Halberstadt performance of as “slow as possible” be a release of the E4? The notation isn’t super clear to me. My girlfriend has taken an interest for her history of science work and wants to describe it accurately! – at Chicago, IL
Oof, opening weekend with @ManualCinema ‘s new live show harnessing all kinds of bottled up feelings about this year. And every project they do takes their shadow art craft to a new plane of virtuosity. Def recommend picking up a seat for the one-of-a-kind run before it’s up. – at Chicago, IL
